if one of the lieutenants gets the chiefs job the other lieutenant job will be elimanated n,and there will be only one lieutenant. the other was that the town would not hire a new chief from within and they would hire from the outside. while the fat cats at the school dept transportatin dept have a leader and an asst. why not elimate the asst. transportation job . because at the school dept they are all fat cats.

The fattest cat in Town has been the Police Chief, making us (I believe) the only municipality in the Commonwealth who's Chief makes more than it's Superintendent...one idea that's been floated would be to make the acting Chief the full time Chief...Lt Walcek could then become the Deputy Chief, taking over Stanley's duties (budget, administrative)...the acting Chief could then continue his duties, overseeing the patrolmen, which is what he's been doing as a Lieutenant..

If Wareham goes outside for its next Police Chief, be prepared to pay a respectable wage. Though the new Chief wont get what Chief Stanley got he/she will be in the $120,000to $ 130,000 when you add in the extras such as education, longevity, etc

The above posts are certainly worth consideration..............but do you really think the BOS is capable of rational thinking. Not this bunch
