I was talking to a family friend who is a policeman on the island he makes 38 dollars an hour  if he was working is wareham  he would be getting around 23 dollars an hour with education benefits or less per hour  if he has no education benefits . this is on top of the powers to be wanting to take there education benefits  that is not the only problem on the island they have 5  police car patrols per shift  in wareham on  the nite shift they have only 3 police car patrols .  wareham has the 2 nd highest crime rate in Plymouth county.   the powers to be don't want to spend money on overtime  to cover there shifts ,so what is happening  there is more crime on the streets . and on top of that we are running police cars in wareham that are over 10 years old,while in bourne they have shining new ford explorers.  wareham  police officers need to go to obertration as they are not getting any where in there negotions with the police union.  the only one making the money is that shister town lawyer bowen.
