I am tired reading about Steve Holmes and the FBI and whether he was "interviewed" or "interrogated" regarding the racist accusations against Chief Stanley from Mr. D'Italia(sp?).
These comments imply that Steve Holmes was behind calling Stanley a racist and that he conspired to ruin Stanley.
This whole story is total nonsense, and I will tell you why.
I will be happy to be interviewed or interrogated by the FBI, respond to legitimate depositions or interrogatories, or answer any questions from any legitimate source.
I wrote the accusation about Stanley on Bill's old site. I believe it was March of 2010. I stated what I had been told by some friends that were Cape Verdeans, and their concern about the story they heard. I ASKED that the situation be investigated. I NEVER called Stanley a racist. I have called him a clown many times, but I NEVER called him a racist. I simply said others had called him a racist, and the matter needed to be investigated.
It was investigated, and it was determined that Stanley did not say the things reported, the Cape Verdean community felt better because there was ACTUALLY an investigation, and the situation came to an end. INVESTIGATION. Cleared the name of Stanley in that particular case. Defused a lot of problems if there had not been an INVESTIGATION.
During this time, I received a call from Steve Holmes. This was long before an INVESTIGATION was started. Steve told me that the whole thing about Stanley was a total LIE, and that he wanted me to know it. He also wanted me to know that he thought Stanley was a great Chief, would make a great Chief, and he admired him. We obviously disagreed about that, but so what.
Steve also told me that there was to be an investigation by Stanley and the WPD into the activities of a few people associated with law enforcement and business interests, and even politicians.
Steve Holmes NEVER said anything negative about Stanley and he NEVER said he believed the story about Stanley. He DEFENDED Stanley.
I never wrote about this because it was a moot point. I was certainly not going to write what Steve told me in confidence, and I waited, like the rest of us, for the results of the INVESTIGATION. It cleared Stanley.
Period. End of story.
Now...if Steve wants to sue someone who is defaming him, or making him look like a felon, I will be happy to see him in Court as his witness.
The rest of you that are pushing this: I suggest you keep your mouths shut, especially when you don't have the slightest clue about what really took place.
Steve could have a lot of defendants...don't be one of them.

I notice that all of the talk about Steve Holmes has stopped.
Surprising, eh?
So...now the talk is about continuing to vilify a former Selectman, and the trustees of the Library.
The spin on the "other" side is funny at best.
Just imagine, and I know there are many cops, former cops, investigators, etc. on this site...just imagine you are approached by a "journalist" who tells you he has information that will show that millions of dollars were stolen from a public library, and this informant had names and evidence to prove it.
THANK YOU, GOD!!! Finally a real case. My reputation will be increased to the point that the White House will want me.
What information do you have, journalist.?
"Well, I can't name any names, but I know of two people that know of this scheme, and there is this ledger, OK, which I can't tell you about because I have to protect my sources. I have the names of 20 people who know what went on. I can give you the twenty names, but, I can't give you my sources."
"OK. Do the 20 people know what took place,and do they know the sources and that the information is absolutely correct?"
"Absolutely."
GREAT!!! I am on a roll!
"OK, when can you get me the ledger?"
"I can't do that because I am sworn to secrecy, and I really don't know where the ledger is. I think it may be locked up in the Library in Wareham."
OK...I can always get a search warrant.
"May I have the names of the twenty people?"
"Sure, here you go."
I interviewed three within a few weeks of the complaint. They didn't "know" anything, at least not by the definition of law. They were told that so and so had told so and so, etc.,etc.,etc.
Useless.
"I need the names of your sources, Bud."
"I can't do that."
"I can't do anything either, because your story is the laughing stock of my office. You are a joke. Your witnesses are useless. You border on me turning you in to the AG and have you prosecuted for being such a stupid ass."
The above is fiction and copyrighted by me this date.
Seriously...I think that some of you have a class action suit against the former journalist and some named followers.
You can't expect to receive anything, because they don't have anything, although you may get lucky and someone has something of value that will at least pay your lawyer's fees.
If you need a check to help pay the legal fees, let me know.
In the meantime...thank you Pillsbury family for enduring this twisted, illogical, abusive, frivolous, malicious beating you have endured for a couple of years.
I hope the report brings you some relief.
