When Wareham voters go to the polls Tuesday, they won't find the names of selectmen Jane Donahue and Brenda Eckstrom on the ballot, in part, at least, because of the criticism they have borne.
"It's too stressful and too time-consuming," said Donahue, explaining why after four years on the board and another four years on the Finance Committee she decided to step away from elected office.
Donahue said she doesn't read newspapers and sometimes wonders why people in public life subject themselves to so much criticism and mean-spirited commentary.
"It's a thankless job," she said. "You can't please all the people, all the time," she said.

Eckstrom said she also wants to pursue professional employment interests and to let others have a chance to serve.
And then there's the criticism.
"You get blamed for everything whether it is your fault or not," she said. "You get yelled at at the supermarket."

What a load of crap. Sad that the paper that said throw the bums out last year is giving the bums kid glove treatment this year. Jane and Brenda didn't run because they knew they Would be defeated like their compatriots Sweet Brucey and Cronie. The Mike and Ellen campaign is the Hypocrite Elite's last ditch effort to keep Wareham under their control.
