I don't know if this information is still current...but this is from a Boston Business Journal article dated 2/5/07.
"..the property, perched 1,100 feet from shore in Onset Bay, is on the market for $2.6 million.."
"BRT-Wickets LLC, a subsidiary of BRT General Corp., bought the secluded retreat in 2003 for $625,000 when the previous owner sold it in bankruptcy."

It is only worth what some buyer will pay for it. The only real possibility is to have a billionaire buy it and build a nice house on the property, but, I don't ever see it happening.

Can we buy it and turn it into a sanctuary for non-tin hats?

Actually Guy, it should be parking spot FOR the tin hats. My preference would be for a man-made moat around the island, with alligators & piranhas. Should be an even match....

That's funny, Dave.
The sad thing is that if it could have been done, that is probably what Wicket's would look like today.
Scary, huh?

In order to use that money, a proposal would need to be approved by the Community Preservation Committee and voters at Town Meeting.

I have always said a single home would be the way for a billionaire to have fine Island home.
I suggest you tell them to go ahead and build the house.
The Town can buy it in a few years when no house has ever been built and the owners want to unload it. If they actually do get by the permitting processes by all government agencies, and build a single family home, it would be beautiful to look at.
