I wanted to thank everyone who attended the BBQ today. I also wanted to share my thanks to those who serve this country. While I was manning the grill, Nikki D handed me the phone and it was her husband, Joe D calling from Iraq. He was sad he was missing the BBQ and wanted to say hi. Brought me to tears. Here is a man who is protecting our freedom to have a great time with family and friends.

Nikki D  is also Army National Guard and highly decorated. She is both mom and dad while Joe is over in Iraq. Many thanks and much love to her.

Some of my high school friends attended and we are all military brats. One is winding down a distinguished career in the military including 3 tours of Iraq.
