The forum software has been modified so that the banner at the top of the page will be randomly picked from a pool of banners.
Any member can upload a banner. Use the Banners link at the top of the page to go to the banner list/upload page. Banner images must be between 400 to 800 pixels wide and 100 to 250 pixels high.
Uploaded banners will automatically be posted to this thread. Moderators and administrators can control which banners get displayed at the top of the page.
You will also note thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons that appear when you move your mouse over the banner at the top of the page. These let anybody, members or guests, vote on their likes and dislikes. You can view voting statistics on this page.
Please post here or let Bill know if you encounter any problems. Enjoy!

Gort is too painfully modest sometimes. He wrote the banner software and lots of other neat stuff when he wasn't consumed by real world work. This stuff is playtime; for Gort, for me and hopefully, for you.
It's not hard. My banners are 800px wide by 200px high because I think they display better, but whatever works for you. The only requirement is it display the name Wareham Observer somewhere. Need inspiration? Check another site of mine called https://cruelery.com .
NOTE TO MIXIE: We need you. Please become our banner godess!

Thanks, Linda!
Mind if I ask you to paste Wareham Observer on that somewhere and resend it?
Here's a sample.

The highest and lowest vote-rated banner to date offers is interesting study in contrast. Bourne Point vs Point Road.

What, you need Château Sauvageau to recognize Swifts Beach?

Oh, shit, Bill! I knew something looked different. It is the posts at the rear of the parking lot, something that Little Harbor doesn't have. I was thinking the area to the right was of the Neck. When I would go to Swift's, not very often, I go to the boat ramp area, where the real townies go to swim.
The S name you used above ~ his wife's maiden name---D'Italia or T'Italia?

He takes beautiful pics, Dan. He showed me one he took in Sandwich of a tree turned orange last fall, gorgeous. He should mat them and see if Tremont Nail Country store would sell them. They have for others, locals.

I like that basket - brings memories of my dad, only his was a rusty basket and most of the clams were the ones too big to sell. Thanks for the memory renewed.

Only if they're properly flushed. Mine get a last meal of spiced breadcrumb.

Yes they do. Our secret is to use condensed milk with a little water mixed, dip and place in your choice - cracker or bread crumbs or ritz crackers- bread them with the dry hand, place on paper towel, cover with paper towel if you have more than a plate full and repeat and chill for one hour before frying. This recipe came from the clam shack going up to the Bourne Bridge, where Sandies is now. The owners son was blamed for the murder of the McGirk girl, missing from a dance at the Onset Casino and found in the reservoir on Charlotte Furnace Rd.

Friends had a cottage 2nd from the last on the point and enjoyed that area. It was so quiet. I knew a man who worked with the crew that built these bridges. It's even nicer that you can't see all the cottages at Briarwood in this picture. Claire Smith's brother passed away a few months ago and he took some awesome nature photos. He was very patient and would wait for hours to get the right shots of animals and plants. He took a picture of two humming birds mating. They are trying to organize all the photos and I think she said people were already asking to purchase them. I think they may donate some to the Audubon (SP?) Society, etc. but nothing firm at this time. You should have some of your pictures made into postcards or the blank greeting cards. Butch Bosari's late wife, Carol, did that and they make a beautiful note card.
