I too had heard that our IT dept. had told the BoS in person and not writing that they could put in a $2000 program that would allow the town to "audit" employee computers. Most businesses (I worked for the state and they had one on my computer!) who want to audit their employees, buy the program.

I know for a fact that my cousin, who owns his own business paid that much for his program.  He explained the whole thing to me when I told him about Wareham's computer audit debacle. This can be verified by calling around to IT specialists/companies to see if it is possible. A REAL reporter might do that, but....well, you know.

So here is what our illustrious, less than truthful, (IMO) chair of our BoS told a tacky tabloid reporter: In his letter Curry also claimed that the town’s IT office repeatedly asked to put a $2,000 program in place that would have monitored computer activity within Town Hall and was denied.
“I have looked for such a written request from the IT’s office and have never seen one,” Sauvageau said. “The reason we had to hire an outside firm is because the IT office said they weren’t able to do such an audit in-house. Does anyone realistically believe the town would not have spent only $2,000 to do the audit itself if that was an option? Come on. Be serious."

I am serious, folks.  VOTE THIS MAN OUT OF OFFICE ON APRIL 6!!

Nora,

It is Brucie the Disengenuous.

It never, ever stops with him. In this example, Matt might have put that item in his budget, only to have it cut. is that a "request in writing"? This guy is too cute for the Town's good.

Over the centuries, there have been many individuals whose identifies have been defined with the word "the" in the middle. Some positive. some negative.

Eric the Red
Alexander the Great
Vlad the Impaler (Bram Stoker's inspiration for dracula)
Attila the Hun
Ivan the Terrible

It appears that Wareham has added one of its own: Brucie the disengenuous.

doncha just feel proud  & tingling all over?  or is that a rash?
