These factual revelations answer my questions:

1) Why did they do it?
2) How much did it cost?
3) What are the real facts?

We've had ENOUGH!

Contacted Wednesday afternoon, Sauvageau first asked the reporter, "Why are you harassing me?" When advised of the reason for the call, Sauvageau responded, "I don't know what the discrepancy is. Last call. No more," he said before hanging up

IT MUST HAVE BEEN TOUGH FOR SAUVAGEAU ACTING LIKE A HUMAN BEING FOR TWO WEEKS, BUT AS SUSPECTED HE'S BACK TO BEING AN ASSHOLE AGAIN.

How much did they pay their PR consultant to teach them how to "play nice" and plant the sickening clowns who appeared during "citizen participation" sessions with the rehearsed laundry list?  Whoever was helping Bruce was probably not getting paid and left.

..."Our attorney has them," selectmen Chairman Bruce Sauvageau said in response to a question about the disks from a colleague Tuesday night.

"They have not yet picked up the disks," Bridget Norton Middleton, spokeswoman for Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz, said Wednesday. "We've been in contact with them, but no one has come to pick up the disks."

"The disks have been available to them since January," Middleton said. "If they wanted to get them, they knew how to get them."

good morning!

can anyone post the complete article from the S-T. I'm too cheap to pay.

Am I the only one who fell over from laughing so hard at el BoBo's whining & kevetching that the Curry letter was not sent to him? Hey Clown! you reap what you sow. Who in their right mind would want to have ANYTHING to do with slagerSLIME. (emphasis on the right mind).

RE: the schnide's comments. Pretty liberal use of the word "if", doncha think. So here is one more 'if'. If the DA and the grand jury had found criminal activity of any kind on the audited computers, where are the indictments? Just as the BoS has had ample time to retrieve "our property", as I recall it being characterized, so has the DA had ample time to issue indictments. Am I wrong here?

And, as Tonto might have said to the Lone Ranger. who is this "our", Kemo Sabe? The BoS & its lackies? the citizens of Wareham who bought & paid for the data, many times over? (one. data entry by paid staff. two. data extraction by outside firm. three. data review & analysis by Plymouth County DA, staff & Grand Jury. four. Ibid for IG's office. One way or another, the taxpayers of Wareham have paid, and paid, etc.).

The solution is simple....

Wareham selectmen vow to continue computer audit

By Steve Decosta

WAREHAM — Selectmen say the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office has returned the disks the town copied as part of a forensic audit of all town computers, and are promising to continue the investigation they began last May.

But the DA's office said Wednesday that neither the town's counsel nor police chief have picked up the disks as requested.

"Our attorney has them," selectmen Chairman Bruce Sauvageau said in response to a question about the disks from a colleague Tuesday night.

Contacted Wednesday afternoon, Sauvageau first asked the reporter, "Why are you harassing me?" When advised of the reason for the call, Sauvageau responded, "I don't know what the discrepancy is. Last call. No more," he said before hanging up.

On Friday, May 22, with most town employees on a mandated work furlough, a team of computer experts from Global Digital Forensics Inc. copied the hard drives of most town-owned computers.

Others, including those at the Wareham Free Library, Municipal Maintenance Department and sewage treatment plant, were copied shortly thereafter.

After at least two town departments complained, the district attorney's office seized the disks and conducted a grand jury investigation, although the office never revealed what it was looking for on the disks.

In letters to interested parties dated Jan. 13, the DA's office said its grand jury investigation was closed, but, "This matter has been forwarded to the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission and the Office of the Inspector General of the Commonwealth for their review."

Selectman Jane Donahue raised the issue at the conclusion of Tuesday's board meeting, saying, "I'd like the general public to know that we're not done with this audit."

"The board needs to meet and decide what direction we're going to go in," Sauvageau said at the meeting.

"We're not restricted in any way in how to use them. ... We're back where we started, unfortunately, with a nice, slight eight-month delay. In any event, we'll have more to say on that."

Global Digital Forensics of Dunedin, Fla., has billed the town $46,000 for its work through July 31.

The town also was billed $10,103 by town counsel Kopelman & Paige for work related to the audit, and $1,898 by Yunits Associates of Brockton, which represented the town before the grand jury.

The selectmen initially did not announce what they were hoping to find on the computers.

Several months later, at a community forum, Donahue said, "it came to our attention not once, not twice, but many times" that the town computers were being used for "wrongdoing," including viewing pornography, running a home business and shopping online.

The recently released minutes of a May 26 executive session, which the DA's office ruled was improper, listed six reasons:

"GDF scope would consist of who is blogging on town hall computers to Whitehouse site (a Web site often critical of selectmen).
Who is using company time to be on the Internet?
Name search of selectman to see who is investigating them.
Outside business's (sic) being run on town computers.
Double log vs. private log at police station.
Who is performing CORI, DMV, outside searches of selectman and Mr. (George) Coleman, (president of Onset Community Crime Watch)."

Sauvageau has been quoted in another publication that he feels the DA's office is politically motivated in the investigation and the timing of the release of the disks.

Contacted Wednesday morning and asked to comment, Sauvageau said, "I'm not going to talk about that."

Isn't Brucie running on the TRANSPARENCY platform??? The BoS are always saying they believe in being transparent, and yet Brucie will only talk to the tacky tabloid reporter. Yet another reason to vote him out.

But transparency is different from lying. Why did the Bruce tell the tacky tabloid writer "Sauvageau believes that the DA’s office always planned to keep the disks until after the April 6 election. But special counsel hired by the town had begun to move forward with plans to have the issue brought before a judge.
"Just before we were ready to formally file a request to have this matter adjudicated suddenly the disk show up at the office of special counsel. This whole thing smells the way it should smell," Sauvageau said.

If Middleton said they were available since January, why would Bruce say the above? I do believe I smell a rat.

And we are paying for special counsel to file a request when the town was notified in January that they could pick up the disks? What kind of legal "advice" are we getting here?? These are taxpayer dollars!!!!
