Folks, I think a very important issue regarding the non-binding referendum on the ballot April 6th is that it is worded in a very confusing way.

The question will read: "The current form of government consists of five part-time Selectmen, an appointed Town Administrator, and Open Town Meeting. Do you feel the current form of government is working in the best interests of the town?"

At first people will look past the "current form of government" and interpret it as the "current people running the government" which results in an emphatic NO.

We need to make sure everybody understands the question is referring to the Town Meeting etc not the people currently in charge!

This is exactly what I thought as well.   Cleverly worded indeed.

However....

If people are not satisfied with the PEOPLE running their government

AND those people are voted out this election because of it

AND the issue PASSES, but is non-binding

The NEW selectmen can choose NOT to act on it
