Wareham Fire Chief Robert M. McDuffy said the driver, who was not identified, was the same woman who crashed into a Mobil station earlier in the week.

I thought the newspaper said that the fire and police depts. asked the RMV to revoke her license that day of the Mobil gas station crash.  Even if they didn't, she should know better than get behind the wheel of a car again, especially if this really is a medical condition.

As of Dec. 24, her license was still valid

What??  This is absurd.   Not only that but I like how it says "Wareham driver" but according to the article, she is from Middleboro.  Another small black mark on Wareham.  lol.  One after the other...

Someone should make a public disclosure request to check the payrolls. Could she be Brucy and Brenda's paid chauffeur......

Or, maybe she's a delivery person for some local free tabloid (well the stories are just as fake, aren't they?).

"My boss told me to do whatever it took for me to deliver these papers. If you don't allow me to leave these papers in your business, I'll drive through the front door and leave a stack anyway!!"

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm surprised no one has brought up the idea that there may be a serious underlying medical condition here. This person should visit her doctor I think. . .

I agree with Not-elite. Obviously this girl has a problem...drugs, alcohol, sleep deprivation, etc., etc., etc.,...get her the hell off of the road. There are medical facilities in jail, where she is headed.
I just hope she doesn't kill someone after some liberal Judge lets her go again...

Perhaps there is a medical condition.  I totally agree.  However, if it happens once it may just be a fluke thing.  When it happens twice AND you damn near take out a gas station, it should cause her to stop driving by choice, not by authority intervention.  She is obviously not giving much thought about the people that her condition may seriously hurt or even kill.  Selfishness at it's best.

I'd nominate this nitwit for Wareham Motorist 2009 but there are so many other contenders, that demands at least another thread, a poll and a prize. Place your pretend bets.

Supposedly, all three accidents that this woman has been involved in have occurred within the time frame of one hour within the time that she visited a methodone clinic. Additionally, I've been told that when the RMV was called,   there was a technicality that prohibited her license from being suspended until Dec 28th. Were I the Police Chief, I'd call the RMV Registrar personally and insist that whatever the technicality is, that they find some law that would preclude the technicality from kicking in. (Maybe K&P would be a good law firm to ask? They see to know where to find things for the Wareham BOS). Certainly the Registrar could find that three major accidents such as this woman has had would qualify for pulling her license, you would think? Go to the top.......get this woman off the road.
