In this part of the deposition, Bruce admits that he never spoke to library trustees during his tenure as a selectman until the meeting when the trustees were called in and dismissed. Q = Trustees' attorney and A = Bruce 3/19/09

Q: Have you even spoken with any of them concerning library issues?
A: The Trustees?
Q: Yeah.
A: Well, yes, at the meeting. At the selectmen's meeting.
Q: Which ones"
A: I believe most of them were there. I can't recall exactly who, but certainly I talked to them during the Board of Selectmen's meeting that--where we discussed the appointment issue.
A: Not before then?
A: Not to my knowledge, no. I haven't--i don't recall ever--no.
Q: Before 2007, you had been a selectman for four years?
A: 2003-2007, yeah.
Q: In four years' time, you never made any attempt to chat with one of the library trustees about the library?
A: You know, I wouldn't have avoided them. You know, I'm certainly not adverse to chatting with anybody, but I don't recall any specific conversations, no.
Q: When you were filling your role as a member of the Board of Selectmen, giving input as to the budgeting issues to the Finance Committee and the town administrator, town meeting --
A: Right.
Q: --wouldn't it be helpful to talk with library trustees about the doings and needs of the library, the public library in Wareham?
A: No. It would have been more helpful for me to have that discussion with the library director.
Q: And you talked with the library director then before town meeting in 2007?
A: No.
Q: Well, if it would be helpful to talk with the library director, why didn't you make that effort?
A: I didn't. That assumes I needed help in this matter. They were part of the budget, the overall budget. My concern was the budget.
Q: How did you find out about what might or might not be the needs of the public library in Wareham if you didn't talk to the director or the trustees?
A: My concerns were the needs of the entire town and the taxpayers who are paying the bills. I don't think I had a separate discussion with anybody about the needs of the Wareham library.

OK FOLKS. HERE IS MY QUESTION. DO WE WANT THIS MAN TO BE RE-ELECTED COME APRIL??

WE HAVE YET ANOTHER SELECTMEN WHO NOW APPOINTS LIBRARY TRUSTEES AND DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE!! (By the way, in a selectmen's meeting before the trustees were dismissed, Bruce claimed he never appointed any trustees to the library, yet records provided by the BoS office show that in his year as chair, and therefore on the Appointing Authority, he appointed three trustees by signing the documents. Nothing like reading what you sign!!!)

THE BOS WERE WILLING TO CUT THE LIBRARY BUDGET 54% AT THE TOWN MEETING BEING DISCUSSED, YET THE BOS NEVER BOTHERED TO CONFER WITH THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR OR THE TRUSTEES!!!  AND HE/THEY WERE MORE THAN WILLING TO CONTINUE LITIGATION WITH THE LIBRARY FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS AT GREAT EXPENSE TO THE TAXPAYERS WITHOUT REALLY KNOWING HOW A LIBRARY OPERATES AND WHAT ROLE THE TRUSTEES PLAY IN THAT OPERATION.

My opinion is that Bruce Sauvageau should not be a member of Wareham's Board of Selectmen.  We do not need selectmen such as this running our town. April is coming soon. Let's keep our eye on the election. (And stay tuned for more "revelations.")

It is imperative that we leave national party politics out of our Take Back Wareham efforts. Donahue isn't bad because he's a democrat any more than Savageau is bad because he's a republican.  Each is bad because of his mix of personality and character traits. The WDTC is no more reflective of mainstream  democrat philosophy than the Texas Tea Party Patriots ,who preach assassination of the president ,are reflective of mainstream republican philosophy.

Perhaps the best illustration of the need for all of us to avoid knee jerk political responses is that the WDTC folks are so enamored of Limbaugh-loving Savageau's style that they have "complimented" him with the title of "honorary democrat"!  Try to figure that one out!

The only way that I can deal with the embarassment of the WDTC is to think of the "D" as standing not for my party but for "Donahue".

As we head into   the election season we should  forget about "R" and "D" labels and focus on a search for  people who are first and foremost Good Human Beings.
