My Name is Tim Nelson and I am the manager of the Wareham Career Center. I am posting here because I heard that it is viewed by a great number of residents of Wareham. I do not live in Wareham and will not get involved directly with any of your difficulties at this time. My reason for posting is to Help. We have two new programs running at the center for youth 16 to 24 for an internship program we also need employers to help with this. We pay the salary and the Work Comp expense the employer gets the help and is able to train the youth in what it is like in the real work a day world.
The second is a GED program targeting 18 to 24 year olds with a Work Certification component as well. While 18 to 24 is our target we will look at all ages. There are eligibility requirements for both programs.

Welcome Tim and thanks for all the information. Tim do you have a lot of job listings? Do you have an online site where people could look up the jobs available and then come in to talk to your staff?

The Wareham Career Center is run by New Dirctions SouthCoast Inc. by Charter from the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board. funded by the US Dept. of Labor and the State Dept. of Labor. in Patrnership with the State Dept. of Workforce Development. Mr. Nelson, thank you for reaching out to our community!! So many people are struggling right now, I can only imagine how difficult it can be for yourself and your organizations staff with the amount of people out of work or trying to get into a field. I know Tim.
He is a gentleman and a very hard working person dedicated to helping youth, and he is always involved in bettering government on all levels.
