Rip Dinkle reporting live! ........(Que the music Hamm)
This reporter has just received a tip that a certain group of people are using a phone bank to make calls to citizens of Wareham asking them to attend town meeting and vote yes on Article #2-Westfield. Ahhh, if it only ended there. It seems they are giving the impression that if it is a no vote, seniors will have no senior housing! Is this isane or what? What kind of demented sick person makes a call and gives completely false information to our citizens? If this isn't preying on people, I don't know what is. Not only should this be reported, this should be punishable by imprisonment!
The good news is that once some of the people receiving the call found out that in fact, seniors will NOT lose their housing, they became very angry!
Good citizens of Wareham, please talk to your friends, neighbors and relatives about the truth behind Westfield. Some of them may have already received this type of call and could be misinformed!
It is clear we need new leadership if they will resort to such levels of desperation.
Rip Dinkle....clearly disgusted.......Good Day!

Rip,
This is the kind of thing that needs to be debunked on town meeting floor. That way, all those extra people will be in the auditorium and can be told the truth and that they should vote no on Westfield.
This just might backfire. Good detecting work.
I wonder who is paying for the phone calls. They are not cheap.

While all the articles are important, we face serious fiscal problems. Legal bills, Health Trust, Consulting fees, State cuts, the books are not yet closed for 09,and the list goes on. Our current Administration just keeps spending money we do not have.
At some point we are going to have to pay these bills.Where will the money come from?
Can we really afford to put more of our money at risk building a housing development? We don't know all the facts about the Westfield project, and until we do we need to say NO more spending.
We WILL do senior housing. Just not this project and the proposed location.
I urge you that will be attending Town Meeting to scutinize the Administration and Finance Comittee on Article #1 and vote NO on Article #2 Wesfield in it's current form.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night.
Thanks to you all for your hard work to help our citizens to see all sides of the issues.
Steve
