I just heard back from The Dartmouth Group, it would seem that it is a violation of the Twin Lakes Condominiums to run a business from your home.
Hmmm, who do we know who runs a business out of the Twin Lakes Condos?

Anyone who wants to drop a dime, the contact info is:
The Dartmouth Group, Inc.
4 Preston Court, Suite 101
Bedford , MA 01730

Phone: (781) 533-7209

I'm sure the Board of Trustees would love to here more as those who know the history, the ragman has been on the outs with the condo people in the past.

What a shame, I guess the rules don't apply to bobo.

I'm all for keeping him hopping from one lily pad to the next...but this guy is a survivor.  Kick his business off the kitchen table and he'll find a bagel shop with internet access .

Flox...

Good one! the very same thought struck me, but I was going to pursue it thru the Plymouth Reg of Deeds, by reviewing the condo docs for the complex. Most likely, the condominium has a board of trustees ( could be a different name, but same thing), who are responsible for enforcing the rules and/or restrictions enumerated in the condominium association documents. The prohibition of home businesses is fairly common.

Thus, the most productive way to bring pressure to bear on the situation would be to contact the board members, the chairman, and so forth.

Three other areas come to mind.

1. Zoning: What does the Town of Halifax permit in the zoning district within which the condo complex is situated. There could be violations, particularly if multiple people (not the owner/occupants) use or visit the residence. Like, Paul Shooter, for example.

2. Town Clerk: they usually require a business to have a business certificate from the Town. Has there been an application for and/or receipt of same?

3. Assessors: Personal property (i.e., stuff that is not real estate) of a business MAY be taxable. Computers, printers, phone systems, etc., used in the conduct of a business. Are the assessors aware that there is a business in a residence? Does the business comply with the annual filing requirement with the Bd. of Assessors, as delineated in Chapter 59 of the Mass Gen Laws?

Let me know via this site if you choose to pursue these. If you can't, I will be happy to do the leg work.

Payback is a bitch.
