I do feel sorry for Elizabeth. It is sad that he would let her go since it was her paper to begin with. What will the paper look like without Elizabeth? And who will I have to laugh at? I wonder if there were a reason or he could just no longer afford her? But what about the other writers, why didn't they go first? And what's the story with the woman with the hair in her face. Letting Eliz go could be the beginning of the end of the paper...

Well, Slager has to pay that hot-shot advertising lady.....plus Andrea Smith still gets out of her car to deliver the paper to places Slager doesn't dare tread.

OHhhhh...and the ragman calls other people cowards. Huh...that really is cowardly to use a little ole lady to go where the observer might not be welcome or to go places where ragman has demeaned and demoralized people. A whole new meaning to ' the pen is mightier than the sword'.

Actually, I heard the "hot-shot advertising lady" who used to work for the equally-inane South Coast Insider out of Fall River was let go some time ago. She hasn't been seen around of late, so I have to assume that's true. So if the news of Liz's firing is true, this may be the beginning of the end. As for Andrea Smith, I think she was getting paid in muffins from the Lunch Box in Marion. But now that it's closing ... she may have to renegotiate for chowder from Barnacle Bill's. :)

The Cold Heart of the Wareham Observer
For two years Liz Pezzoli wrote for the paper. She wrote compelling and pulitzar prize worthy stories about Little Harbour and dead seagulls lying on the pier. Liz suffered from overeating and obesity. And now just before the Christmas season Liz was fired. Happy Thanksgiving, and have a very Merry Christmas and a happy New year. Wareham Observer owner bob slager refused comment, "I have nothing to say to you people." Liz Pezzoli was interviewed at the Crack of Dawn and she stated, "How can he be so cold-hearted? How can he be so cruel." She then proceeded to eat a stack of pancakes that someone turned back to the kitchen because they were not the right order. Please Liz dont resort to eating Fluffy.

I understand there's a vacant unit at Brandy Hill. Wouldn't that make a story!

Funny "IHATESLAGER" mentions Crack O'Dawn. In all seriousness, absolutely no joke, I heard she was there Friday morning, sobbing up a storm, telling people she'd just been fired after a big blowout fight with the Ragman. Apparently she pressed the issue of not being paid and the result was her being canned. She had some choice words for the Ragman. I guess she went there after the fight to drown her sorrows in the lumberjack breakfast special.
Probably not the smoothest move, Ragman, given the fact that the Cat Lady's friendship with your landlord was probably the only thing keeping you from an eviction.
What's that old saying about lying down with dogs and waking up with fleas?
Christmas came early this year.

I am not a lawyer, but I would think Eliz could have a compelling wrongful discharge case against the ragman. He doesn't pay ELiz, but then he brags about buying his daughters $60.00 worth of trinkets that he knew he could have purchased for $10.00 at Walmart?

I'll bet he's regretting that $1000 library donation. At least Liz is.

I would hope that Eliz is regretting all the people she hurt and all the destruction she brought to 'her friends' to help build the sales of rag.

I appreciate your kindness, Mixie, but Elizabeth Pezzoli didn't need someone else's agenda to sauvageau her friends and neighbors. She was just as nasty as a child as she is as an adult. The word sociopath comes to mind. Don't waste you sympathy.

Just put your ear to the ground, Flox, and you'll hear plenty. I thought that there wasn't anyone more talkative than an unpaid cat lady. Well, there is - an unpaid, disgruntled fired cat lady. The tidbits of info put into the grapevine by the cat lady are trickling in fast and furious now.
Hell hath no fury like a cat lady scorned.

Let's see, rent, taxes... Occurred to me more than a year ago Slager wasn't keeping any books at all. Anyone else wonder how that defamation suit's coming along? Every printer I've ever known demands cash up front.

Well the Cat Lady's gums are flapping up a storm...only a matter of time before the Ragman's gums flap back about her.
Pop your popcorn and grab your 3-D glasses folks, watching these two duke it out over who's the bigger dirtbag will be the show of the century.
