IHL, thanks for these info bits. It's stuff like this that we won't get otherwise.

Jane's the most ambitious of the bunch, and has her fingers in all the wrong pies.

I could be wrong but as i recall the estimate seemed reasonable to us in the real world and the private sector.
Either way just like the pot hole issue on glen charlie it is my understanding that once the town is aware of a safety or liability issue the financial burden lies on them not the town insurance company.

not a lawyer or casual could probably address that better but it sounds reasonable to me.

if poles were destroyed Power company. cable company, telephone co. and probably wareham fire dept will all have to do their switchovers with their cables.  How many crews at what cost.  A   few cops which must cost department some money in overtime.  NOT TO MENTION THE INCONVENIENCE TO TAX PAYERS WHO WERE GOING TO AND FROM WORK.

Hope someone here knows someone at the power company and informs them where the bill should go

thank god it was the middle of the night and a motorist or school bus wasnt struck

"This would be funny if.......Oh NO!  NOT AGAIN !

Perhaps we should construct  a BOS TV clip of  Janesaw Donahue making her  learned statement  about this knotty problem .Then we could follow that with a photograph of a tree that apparently passed its expiration date about the time when Johnny Carson took over from Jack Paar and which finally gave up the ghost last night.

As Will Rogers said, "Everybody is stupid only on different things"

This may be why the charter rules that BOS members are not to get involved in the day to day  running of the town......

I REMEMBER THE MEETING YOU ARE SPEAKING OF BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS SO ODD THAT THEY TALKED ABOUT A TREE FOR ALMOST A HALF HOUR. JANE D THOUGHT THAT THE BID WAS TOO EXPENSIVE SAYING THAT HER NEIGHBOR GOT THEIR TREES CUT DOWN FOR 200 DOLLARS EACH. THEY ORDERED THE ITA TO PUT IT OUT TO BID (THAT WAS MONTHS AGO) WHAT EVER HAPPENED? I WENT BY THERE NSTAR TRUCKS EVERYWHERE GETTING PAID ENORMOUS OT. COPS ON DETAILS. THANKS JANE FOR SAVING US SO MUCH MONEY BY WAITING. THANK GOD IT DIDNT FALL OVER ON SOME KID WALKING TO THE BUS STOP INSTEAD IT FELL IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. THANKS AGAIN YOU IDIOTS!

Unless the cost was over a certain dollar figure, I don't believe it had to go out to bid....the ITA only needed to get three quotes and then could choose the best one. Once again, an administrator who cannot act on his own for simple day to day decisions.

my understanding is that Cronan ordered  Marc Gifford to cut the little league fields  (separate entity from town) when the league already had someone under contract. Maybe   they could have used town resources to address this problem that week.

I remember when we had a tree department in Wareham, behind the present police department building.  I believe Mr. Ames was in charge of it.

I have noticed many trees that need to be taken down thru out Wareham.

Looks like we should make up  a "to do" list for the selectmen and ITA.

Wait for the new Selectmen.
Then you will know that the job will be done.

I remember the days when Jane was called Weasel, she earned that nickname, trust me.
The Butt Monkey couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag with a GPS!
He is a poor excuse for a man(ager).
I had to pick up and drop off a friend down off Glen Charlie Road this weekend, pot holes are BAD but there is vegetation growing in some of the roads. In one spot only one car could fit through, quite dangerous in an area loaded with kids (and parents who don't watch them - what is up with that? I never saw one adult but small kids playing in roads, is this normal these days?). There is one tree half broken hanging off another tree, limb scratched up the roof of my car, I may have to submit the bill to Butt Monkey if it is expensive to repair. I don't want my new car rusting out, I got a great deal under the cash for clunkers program!

Jane is generally regarded as the brighter of the Mr and Mrs Moderator team, but at times she's so smart she doesn't know how stupid she is!!..What happened to serving the remainder of Mrs. PIllsbury's term and being done with the Selectman's job?..She will go down in history as one of the pivotal members of the worst BOS of all time!!
