Not only have the results of that audit remained secret, even the cost of the audit — which the taxpaying public has every right and reason to know — has not been released.
We have asked the Plymouth County district attorney and the secretary of state to investigate the matter and force town leaders to obey the law, but it should not take a direct order from county or state enforcement authorities to make Wareham do what it should.

QUOTE FROM THE S-T:
"Further, the town has failed to produce information requested by this newspaper on other matters, especially the selectmen's decision to commandeer the town's computers in a search for nobody knows what — financial wrongdoing, misuse of town equipment for personal business, town workers viewing pornography, or, as some have suggested, attempting to identify town employees using the equipment to criticize the current board?"
Not just as "some" have suggested. As the Board of Selectmen have suggested.
What were those infamous quotes again?
JANIE: "Look, just look at where they have been on the internet. Just give us that very specific...did they blog or did they not blog?"
