22 resumes for TA.  Not that I’m paranoid or anything but how do we know those are all the resumes we received. Didn’t someone from this site mention they had put in application for town accountant and never heard back from the town?
Since our incompetent interim TA is applying for the job what is the procedure?

Is he involved at all in narrowing down the 22 applicants?

Hasn’t it been over a year since our last TA?

Don’t these jobs have to be filled within a certain time frame?

Will it just be the selectman doing the interviews or will some dept heads be involved?

I should say what’s left of our dept heads. Why oh why does it take so freaking long to fill all the town positions?

I actually think this is a good number of resumes. I wonder if they all meet the qualifications, based on the accountant debacle. Maybe they will hire a non-degreed person and give them 3 years to get a degree?

Listen, they are moving fast to do as much damage as possible and get "their" people in place. They realize the election is coming and it will likely be the end of the Big 5.

In 3 and a half, almost 4 years, this town has not a full time permanent TA because of these incompetent BOS boobs.

Did they weed out anyone that put on their resume "refuses to put on knee pads whilst genuflecting, kissing the ring, and paying homage to my mighty BOS masters?"

PShooter and all,
Note Sweet Brucey's comment at the end of the clip that "we have a very lengthy agenda and we haven't made any progress whatsoever on any of THOSE things, as far as I'm concerned".  That in itself suggests that they intentionally by design intended to interfere with the day to day operation and by firing McAuliffe and appointing their "puppet" they've been allowed to control operations, which is in direct conflict with the Charter.
I need to see that "agenda".  I need to see in writing, as voted by them as a board, that their intent was / is to turn OUR town upside down because that is all that they, collectively, have accomplished.

Too funny! LMAO!    Unfortunately that may be one of the requirements.  So, they will be in charge of selecting someone?  If this is true....they could choose whoever they think is weak enough to be brow beaten and follow their orders to the max, title or no title, job description or not. ?  Isn't there a committee or board that selects the TA?

Good one.  If you "see" it, please share.  Thanks

Falcon's Reply:  Back in May 2009 I submitted a resume & cover letter for the Town Accountant position that had been advertised in the S-T.  I have over 30 years experience in public accounting & auditing, internal audit with international conglomerate, internal audit with large pharmacy chain, municipal school district and city government (Ann Arbor, MI and Providence, RI), and consulting for small business.  I passed the CPA exam in 1979, the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) exam in 1994 and served as president of two professional accounting & auditing organizations in the past decade.

Even though I hand delivered my documents to the Town Administrator's office, I was NEVER contacted by anyone from the Town of Wareham!!!!

Draw your own conclusions . . .

bornofwareham,
How much do you want to bet that there is NO official document ?
But he can say, "speaking for the board" that "they" have some some official mandate that makes up this so called "agenda".  Like I said, nothing but dysfunction.

falcon,
Have you ever challenged the qualifications of the appointee vs. the advertisement requirements ?

bbrady -

I discovered this board shortly after I had submitted my application.  I started just as an unregistered reader, informing myself of at least one side of Wareham politics (I live in a nearby town).  After I learned more about the situation from this board and the S-T articles to date, I did register on the site using my call name from my signal corps days in the mid-60's:  Falcon.  It did not take long for me to figure out that if I were to have been hired, I would have had almost immediate severe ethical challenges with the daily politics (and having spent 12 years in Providence, that is saying something!).

So, long story short, I did not feel it was worthwhile for me to pursue the position any further.  I have, however, contributed a few times when I felt my personal experience would add substance to the current conversation thread.

Yeah, where else do hear of a dumpster diving Governor wading through rubbish for a payoff stuffed inside his discarded grinder order? Or a mayor riding shotgun on horseback during a garbage strike?
