In yesterday's Globe South, under the Community Briefing section, there is a blurb under WAREHAM titled "Volunteers Needed."
Here is what it says: "Selectmen are looking to fill positions on town committees. There are vacancies on the Bike Path Committee, Board of Health, Commission on Disability, Community and Economic Development Authority, Council on Aging, Economic Development Advisory Board, Historic District Commission, Marine Resources Commission, Open Space Committee, Personnel Board, Planning Board, Cultural Council, and Zoning Board of Appeals. The position of Fence Viewer was also up for grabs. Applications are at Memorial Town Hall at 54 Marion Road." Power elitists and hatebloggers need not apply.
No, not really---the last sentence was mine. But hey, is there any surprise that there are so many positions to fill? Maybe we need to flood Town Hall with applications for all these boards. How can they keep refusing to put us on committees? Could this be the first step to taking back Wareham?

Molly, You should take it one step further and find out and report how many applications for volunteering are currently on file that have been ignored because we don't meet "their" agenda needs; to cause more dysfunction.
Instead they want to convince Wareham residents that the Charter and form of government is broke and out dated.
That's why I mentioned during our community that this leadership doesn't know how to manage the many assets (volunteers) available.
My application has been on file since December 2008. And I know there are many others.

Molly has the right idea. FLOOD them with applications.
Don't forget, there will be openings on the Library Board soon also.
Great way to start.
With the anonymity of this site, they really don't know who EVERYONE is.
None of us do...except Bill.
