BillW's new photo at the top of the page reminded me of the BOS: they're sending us up the river with no paddle!!..throw in The ITA, the Moderator, and that DB Slager and people can see why we're so frustrated..recent history shows us that the above mentioned are disfunctional and have been a detriment to this town..
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this photo is a perfect example: Wareham is a beautiful, picturesque town..unfortunately, the powers that be have made our Town the laughing stock of the region and quite possibly the entire Commonwealth..
TAKE BACK WAREHAM (BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE)

What happened to the idea of bumper stickers or lawn signs that say "Take Back Wareham" or "Take Back Our Town"?

Paul Shooter snuck into the bumper sticker factory and absconded with them all.

I shot that image last evening, a few short steps away from this view...

Ham... Although Paul Shooter did sneak into that one factory I have info from a reliable source that Paul Shooter can be bribed with a certain food. Unlike Bobo who is addicted to bagels, Paul is addicted to corn dogs. It's a food he can eat with one hand when he swings from buildings. When he clings to ceilings he doesn't have a problem with it falling on people heads. Since Bobo is his idol, he wanted to make sure he was eating a food that had as many grams of fat as cream cheese and bagels.
On a serious note.. I would also like info on the bumper stickers and signs for the yards. Maybe some of the people who have run for office can give us the names of some places where we could get them printed. I would be willing to contribute money to have them made up.

another beautiful day in our beautiful Town..one of Bill's excellent photos prompted me to take a little tour of Wareham by kayak today, all the way to Wareham High School/Town Hall..wonder if the DB Bobo ever saw the beauty of the Town he cares so much about?..my guess would be no, he's to busy ruining this place with his lies..I don't think you have to be from here to appreciate how special a place this is..
As I passed Parkwood Beach, I thought of Guiseppe's pizza shop and the slide at the beach..I then thought of Mr and Mrs Moderator, they having grown up there, and the venom they spread about our Police force being racists..like Slager, they have done far more harm then good for this
town..
So many memories, like the raft betwen Pinehurst and Hamilton came to mind..dances and the arcade at Swift's Beach, or just hanging out at the "sandbar" (also called Long Beach) were recalled..how lucky have i been, like lots of others who live here, to have had the pleasure of living here?
This is just a small sample of this great Town of ours..Little Harbor, Onset, White Island, and the rest need to be remembered as well..let's not allow some broken-down suitcase who claims to be a journalist affect us any more than he has!!..Town meeting and the April election are fast approaching and we have a chance to make a difference..

Guiseppe Schicolone...what a wonderful man.
He was a great supporter of mine, and he lived a life that I threatened to write a book about.
What ever happened to him and his family? I know his son was involved in the business for quite awhile.

(Post from Born) I can remember ice skating through the swamp that is in the area of the boys & girls club and pkg lot., weaving around the trees and branches that are no longer there.
As I passed Parkwood Beach, I thought of Guiseppe's pizza shop and the slide at the beach..I then thought of Mr and Mrs Moderator, they having grown up there, and the venom they spread about our Police force being racists..like Slager, they have done far more harm then good for this

(Post from Born) The raft that I did a cannonball roll off of and cut up my eye on the chain. And Walter, who tried to pull me under as I swam to Hamilton Beach and the life guard had to hit him with the canoe paddle. The summer dances in the Pinehurst Assn. Bldg.

(Post from Born) Little Harbor with the snack bar run by Mrs. Holt., No such place as Wareham Lake Shores, a handful of cottages down dirt roads going to White Island Pond and Plymouth.
Thanks for the memories. I love my town.

gogateman: That wonderful photo of the pier is the entrance to Bourne` Cove looking South toward Cuttyhunk. Little Harbor is just around the corner to your left.(Reachable by car on Warren Point Road off Indian Neck Road)
The pier is used by the Suddards, who have a successful and respected commercial oyster farming operation in the cove.
I have to add that Wareham is a world class kayaker destination. I found that out...much to my surprise...last fall when I was trying to help the library. I took quite a few shots of Wareham in late November-early December that are still viewable at the site: www.warehampaddle.wordpress.com
The other photos posted here are very familiar: The row of buildings is the backside of Merchants Row, and the follow-up marsh scene photo was taken not far away but headed upstream toward Bryant's Farm golf range.
As we we think of ways of building a stronger Wareham we should include kayaking. I was super-impressed with the Channel 10 segment about The Nail Factory, which is potentially the location of a major kayak launching site.
I'd be glad to hear from kayakers who see the good potential for Wareham as a kayaker destination: wheelerauk@comcast.com
