Remember how we were all giving Bobo crap all last week for continuosly updating "The Neverending Story?"
Shooter's name appeared under the "Courier, Ragserver Condemn Media Ban" story.
Sorry Bobo, it turns out we should have been giving crap to Shooter all week instead.
But at least now we can put this Shooter controversy to bed. That story has quotes from several people. Presumably, Shooter interviewed those people if there are quotes from them in the story.
For example, there are quotes from Sweet Brucey saying that he will be attending the meeting, so somebody should talk to Sweet Brucey to see what his impressions of Paul Shooter are.
Also, there were quotes from School Supt. Dr. Rabinovich, and I hear Dr. Rabinovich is a very nice man and I'm sure he wouldn't mind folks calling him up to ask his thoughts on that Shooter fellow that interviewed him.
Brady is mentioned, I'd be interested if Mr. Brady could weigh in on whether Mr. Shooter ever attempted to contact him.
The ACLU was mentioned too! Larry, in your calls to the ACLU, did they ever mention hearing from the infamous Paul Shooter?

Maybe a little dissection is in order:
Quotes from Bobo's story in regular font. Ham's expert analysis in Bold font.
Update: Courier, Observer condemn media ban
Wareham Courier Editor David Smith has joined the Wareham Observer in rallying against an attempt by Bob Brady to ban the media from attending Thursday night’s “community” meeting at the Wareham Middle School.
Brady, a board member of the Citizens for a Better Wareham, has repeatedly stated that only people with similar political viewpoints will be allowed to attend the "community" meeting, which was advertised in both the Courier and the Standard-Times as being open to the public. Brady said no media will be admitted.
In an on-line editorial which will also be published in this week’s edition of the Courier, Smith said Brady’s decision “smacks of a certain hypocrisy. Critics of the selectmen charge that the board has displayed a lack of transparency; how is barring the media from an event in a public place any different? A press release after the fact just doesn’t cut it.”
Smith also wrote “This is a democracy, not a dictatorship.”
Mr. Smith, please weigh in on whether Mr. Shooter contacted you for an interview and if so, what your impressions are of infamous "Rag Corresondent" Paul Shooter.
The Observer has also condemned Brady’s plan to discriminate against certain people, including the media, by prohibiting them from attending a meeting in a public building that has been advertised as being open to the public. Those advertisements did not note who was calling the meeting. The Observer discovered it was Brady, a board member of a local political action group that preaches unity in Wareham.
“Mr. Brady clearly doesn’t want anyone in attendance who might challenge the truthfulness of his political claims afterward,” said Observer Media Publisher Robert Slager. “I am in full agreement with Mr. Smith. The hypocrisy of Mr. Brady’s stance is staggering. He claims the current town government is not forthcoming with information, so his response is to hold a public meeting in a public school and ban the media from reporting on it. Mr. Brady also plans to pick and choose which members of the public will be allowed to attend based on each individual’s political viewpoints. The Observer finds that more than just a little bit frightening.”
Alright, I see what this is. Many reporters have a "beat," i.e. a certain area or subject they cover. They have crime reporters, weather reporters, education reporters, business reporters, etc. Apparently, Bobo is such a driving force behind Wareham that the Rag needed Shooter to be a "Bobo Reporter" to interview Bobo on the important Bobo-related news of the day.
Standard-Times Editor Bob Unger, who has advocated for a recall of the Board of Selectmen, did not respond to an e-mail sent on Monday asking if he supports a media ban of the meeting.
Mr. Unger, please share any e-mails you have from world renowned Bobo Corresondent Paul Shooter
The Observer learned that the Board of Selectmen has posted an open meeting at the Wareham Middle School at the same time as the "community" meeting. Asked why he made the posting, Chairman Bruce Sauvageau said "Because we’re going there."
Ok, surely the Chairman of the BOS would have objected by now if a story appeared that was bylined by a reporter that did not interview him. Oh, wait...I meant to say surely a Chairman of a BOS in a NORMAL town would have..."
"It’s important that if there is a community meeting that all residents have the fair opportunity to discuss issues and points of view that are relevant to both the Board of Selectmen and this administration," Sauvageau said. "I feel it is important that (selectmen) are at least there to listen to those points of view. And in that respect I believe that everybody should have the opportunity to voice their opinions in any forum, including this one. I will certainly respect Mr. Brady’s free speech rights. I just hope he respects other people’s free speech rights. There can be no such thing as a closed forum on a public property."
Holy Shit, Shooter! That's the longest friggin' quote I've ever seen. Can't you shut Sweet Brucey up? Did you have to pack a lunch and take a bathroom break just to get through your Sweet Brucey interview?"
Sauvageau said the presence of the Board of Selectmen is not any attempt to twart criticism.
Shooter, stop getting writing lessons from your boss. Unless Brucey did say he would not twart criticism, but reserved his right to thwart criticism.
"We won't be there to talk. We'll be there to listen. The theory that this Board of Selectmen will take revenge on people from voicing there opinions is a ridiculous assertion. I’m the longest serving member of this board, and I can say that this board has very little power to control free speech, nor would we ever want it."
Shooter, you're new, so we'll give you a pass for letting Sweet Brucey pretend like he and the BOS are sweet little angels
Sauvageau reiterated that the board will make no attempt to participate.
"Mr. Brady has made it clear that this isn’t about debate. It’s about listing a long list of greviences. The best way for him to do that is to address his concerns to us directly," said Sauvageau, who later added that selectmen needed to post their own meeting in order to legally attend the one Brady is hosting.
"Otherwise they would accuse us of violating the open meeting law," Sauvageau said.
Jesus, Shooter, this interview sounds like it was so long you must have grown a long white beard and had to leave the room walking with a cane at the end of it...
It is unclear if selectmen will be allowed into the auditorium. Legally, Brady can't prevent residents from attending an open meeting of the Board of Selectmen. It would be a violation of the civil rights of those who wish to attend. But the posting doesn't list a specific location at the middle school, and Brady has a contract to use the auditorium. The Observer sent an e-mail to School Superintendent Dr. Barry Rabinovich on Tuesday, asking him if it was he considered it legal for the selectmen to hold a meeting in the auditorium while another meeting was taking place. He responded by writing "As far as the BOS posting a meeting, it is probably in acordance with Open Meeting Law."
When asked by e-mail to elaborate on his somewhat indirect reply, Rabinovich later responded by saying "Any time three members meet, and may consider an issue, they need to post the meeting. If you are asking if the BOS can attend Mr. Brady's event you need to ask Mr. Brady. He has rented the hall."
Rabinovich also said that although political meetings are not specifically allowed on school property, civic use of buildings are permissible.
"We have up to this point defined civic in its broadest terms," he said.
The school district’s building usage policy, however, does not allow a host to determine who can attend a meeting. There is nothing in the contract that Brady signed with the school which would give him that authority.
Dr. Rabinovich, please let the public know your thoughts on Ace Reporter Paul Shooter
The Observer sent an e-mail to each member of the School Committee on Monday asking for their viewpoints on the issue. As of Tuesday night, no one on the board had responded.
School Committee members, please provide to the public any e-mails you have from Shooty
Slager said he will attend the meeting despite Brady’s attempt to ban the media, even if that results in his arrest.
“Despite Mr. Brady’s claim, the Observer has no desire to prevent or disrupt the meeting,” Slager said. “We simply wish to report on it, as does the Courier. I do not recognize Mr. Brady's authority to ban the media from attending a public event. If Mr. Brady had decided to hold such a meeting in a private venue then none of this would be an issue. But this meeting is being held at a public school. It was advertised as being open to the public. It is our belief that Mr. Brady does not have the constitutional authority to discriminate against people who hold a different political viewpoint from his own. He said this meeting was called to discuss the future of the community. How could he, in good conscious, prevent all residents from attending and participating in such a meeting?”
Another longwinded blow hard. I know you're new, Shooter, but you can't let these windbags talk all day, you'll never get anything done. Get another writing coach, Shooter. It's "good conscience" not "conscious."
Brady has not responded to multiple e-mail attempts from the Observer seeking comment. Instead he has been posting replies on a controversial local web site known for its hateful rhetoric.
We take offense at that Shooter. Calling us hateful, after all we tried to do for you...trying to get Wareham residents to take you to lunch at the Cranberry Cottage and take you on a tour of Wareham landmarks and everything. That's pretty rude, Shooter
In a comment Brady posted on that site last night, he confirmed his intention to ban the media from attending.
“All media entities will be provided with the same press release,” he wrote. “Read each over the weekend or as reported and determine for yourself, comparing all three or more; especially if you attend, as to which has an accurate representation of the event.”
Brady later wrote “Let me assure all that this meeting is open to all citizens (not just registered voters) who share unhappiness with the leadership and desire a new direction for OUR community. It’s that simple. It is not a debate and there will be NO disruptions.”
Brady went on to write “No media for the last time. I hope (Slager) doesn't further embarrass himself by insisting on attending.”
Mr. Brady, did Mr. Shooter ever contact you? By the way, Mr. Brady, I thought it was very honorable of you, that though you asked the police to remove Bobo, you didn't ask them to remove Mr. Shooter. I assume that meant you were willing to give Mr. Shooter the benefit of the doubt, since he was new to the job. Either that, or, like the other couple hundred people in attendance, you never saw Mr. Shooter because of his mystifying ninja skills that allow him to avoid all detection.
Slager said he will attend this meeting, along with hundreds of local residents who believe a public meeting at a public school should be open to everyone.
And those hundreds of people stood up in their seats and applauded when Mr. Holmes demanded an apology from your boss, Shooter.
“Mr. Brady told the Standard-Times that he has the authority to ‘dictate’ who can attend,” Slager said. “That statement should be deeply concerning to all Wareham residents. Nobody is trying to take away Mr. Brady’s right to hold his personal political viewpoints. But it’s clear he is trying to prevent opposing viewpoints from being heard. This event is being held at a public school. What kind of message are we sending the children of this community? That it’s OK to discriminate against people who don’t agree with you? That it’s OK to ban the media from reporting on a ‘community’ meeting because you’re determined to control the flow of information to the public? Those are not the democratic principals on which this great national was founded.”
Shooter, when you were sitting there, listening to Bobo drone on and on and on...did you ever start to wish you had gotten into dentistry instead of journalism?
There have been reports that questionnaires will be provided to those who plan to attend the meeting. Admission will allegedly be based on Brady’s approval to the responses.
Shooter, you dumbass. Where did you get that from?
The American Civil Liberties Union is now reportedly investigating the matter.
Someone from the ACLU please weigh in on whether your organization was contacted by P Shooter
A protest is being planned outside the middle school for residents who are banned from this event. Local television stations have reportedly been invited to cover the protest.
Get your facts straight, Shooter. In the end, it was just 2 white guys and no television cameras, though Bill's camera did catch an angry Cape Verdean woman yelling at your boss, Bobo
“Mr. Brady has constantly said the current administration in Wareham offers no transparency,” Slager said. “He has every right to hold that position. He has every right to meet with other people who also hold that position. But his insistence to dictate who can attend a meeting at a public school is the most frightening thing I have witnessed during my time in Wareham. If this is a glimpse of the future he and his followers hope to provide for Wareham then everyone else should feel a little bit afraid.”
And at this point, Shooter's eyes were already glazed over in boredom and he passed out, fell into a deep sleep, woke up three hours later, and Bobo was still yapping

Correspondent Paul Shooter
Yeah, that's right. Shooter was a correpondent in this story, but apparently some unpleasantness occurred that caused Bobo to demote him to "corresondent" in his coverage of the meeting that he snuck into undetected by all through the use of his ninja skills.

In fact, based on a little research (it helps to have multiple copies of the articles on the Wareham Pravda) , it appears Mr. Shooter only writes the articles where the Head Writer and chief bottle washer are interviewed. So, he has no real reporter responsibility other than to interview the boss?
