There is some question as to whether a public building can exclude residents...but he's not a resident. doesn't pay taxes either.
It would be a good idea if someone were to copy all the recent newspaper articles about the events in town. I think these articles clearly show what is happening in Wareham. It's time to drown out the rag.

I think it would be a great idea to put together all the recent newspaper articles regarding "OUR TOWN" too, and I would be sure to include the rude and unprofessional email written by the BOS Chair to Bob Brady! That would be the frosting on the cake! Maybe they could get handed out at the July 30th meeting?

Believe me when I say this, the last thing I am worried about is Robert Slager. By nature, he will write what he wants and spin it the way he wants. That said, who really reads his FAKE wareham observer when they look for news? He is just a wart on a camel's ass.
I think the most disturbing thing for me is the constant referral to past BOS's and all that was done 20 years ago. That does not justify the actions of the current BOS. It makes no sense to me to explain what this BOS by talking about the past.

They've always done that. You bring up crap this BOS has done, and they said "but look! look! the last BOS was bad!" I don't think they were, but if they were, so what? You morons are in the drivers' seats now and have been about 3 years. Bruce has been in for about 6 and a half years (was in more years before on the Fin Com). Brenda has been in since 2005. The Donahues have run the Democrat Town Committee since the begginning of time, Jane was on the fin com many years, John ran for state rep and lost more times than you can shake a stick at and was drummed out of his job as assessor.
These people are NEW on the scene and had nothing to do with town politics until just recently?
They are too incompetent and they can't handle the job so all they can offer is blame, blame, and more blame.

I don't think you can bar anyone from attending the meeting because it is in a public building. Whether you can keep them from participating is another matter.
If Slager or members of the plausible press attend it gives your meeting credibility.
Offline
#9 2009-07-23 09:15:04
But if you are renting the space, and it is being rented by private citizens, can't you control who attends? The school department makes a little money off renting the meeting space out, so if it is a "private" meeting even though the public has been invited, it seems to me that you can exclude people if you want to.
Personally, I don't think it matters if the media are there or not. Slager will twist the truth as usual no matter what (in my opinion, of course even though many of us can prove this claim by comparing the facts to some of his rag ramblings). And the others will simply print the facts. We've got nothing to hide.

I know for certain some towns the rule is that meetings in town buildings have to be open to the public. Most people don't attend such meetings if they aren't welcome even if technically they are allowed to.
I don't know about Wareham's rules. Call the town clerk.

How about this one bobo, instead of causing a scene at the meeting, why not call for the BOS supporters to make their support know at THE BALLOT BOX!!
You know they won't be able to, so you're going to create chaos. And if something bad should happen, it can all be traced back to you. I think I'm going to send a group of republicans to the next democratic town committee meeting. Would they we allowed or welcomed bobo? I don't think so.

It really is hilarious. I can tell by Ragboy's column that they are absolutely terrified of a recall. TERRIFIED! He and his BOS pals claim like they have this great track record to stand on, but then they hear about citizens having a meeting and they throw up their arms and start foaming at the mouth, frightened at the prospect of a recall.
Whether it is a recall or a general election, they are so terrified that a person outside their little clique will get in there and find out what they have been doing that they will do anything to stop it. Anything.
It's funny to watch them squirm. That a little community meeting would cause them to feel that much fear. Too funny.

BREAKING NEWS: Sweet Brucey very upset that his bitch will not be allowed into the meeting!
FROM TODAY'S STANDARD TIMES:
"The irritation of some selectmen has started to show. Board Chairman Bruce Sauvageau approached Brady in the town library after an unrelated hearing on Thursday and twice tried to interrupt a conversation to ask Brady whether the press would be allowed into his meeting. Brady turned his back on Sauvageau and continued his conversation, and Sauvageau turned to a reporter and began quizzing him about his understanding of the rules of the meeting."

How much of this Ragman ranting is over advertising? Ragman is probably pissed he didn't get paid to run the ads for the meeting, and I'm sure he's worried that at some point in the future, new selectmen outside of the Hypocrite Elite crew might move town advertisements into non-rag newspapers, which I'm sure would take a hefty chunk of his revenue.

I just posted on the other thread, but let me say it here that the meeting on the 30th is NOT A DEBATE. We don't want to waste time trying to convince others that it is time for a change in this town's officials and method of governing. The list of complaints is long We don't plan to convince people that the list is correct.
So in my opinion, Mr. Brady can limit the meeting to people of like-minds who want to TAKE BACK WAREHAM from the bos and ita Kopelman and Prostitute (my opinion, of course) etc. etc.
I think that if Mr. Brady is moderator, and one of these opponents tries to speak, he can ask them to sit down and or leave since we are not there to debate the issues, but to try to come up with a solution to the problems AS WE SEE THEM.
Can you now understand why ragboy and the bos and mslilly and hooray for audits and their cronies need not attend?

Alright, Alright, I'm going to put this debate about whether the Ragman can attend to bed.
Ragman, there was a misprint in the ad for the meeting. It is not a community meeting to discuss bad leadership. This is, in fact, a meeting of the Wareham Employed Person's Society, and thus as you can imagine, as a person with only a profitless hobby, you wouldn't be interested.

Gee whiz Bill, it only took Ragboy two seconds to throw up a paragraph calling us all Nazis in response.
"Does that mean the future of Wareham will be a "dictatorship?" Ragboy asks. No, Ragboy, that's what the present of Wareham is, and you're its chief supporter.
Ragman should talk to his therapist about projection (i.e. when you accuse others of being what you are).
Funny, because I always thought "Herr Slagoebbels" would be yet another good nickname for Bobo. What else do you call the propaganda minister for a dictatorial regime?

Slager's uses this for an excuse to "update" his latest "article" with an attack:
In an article in Saturday's Standard-Times, Brady is quoted as saying "I am the sole applicant for the use of that space. I am the sole responsible party. I can dictate who gets in."
"I can dictate who gets in" is an interesting choice of words. Does that mean the future of Wareham will be a "dictatorship?" Just wondering.
If Bob Brady said "I can determine who gets in" maybe Slager would have accused him of being "de terminator". Slager, as someone who claims to be an experienced journalist, you are reaching.
Aside from being another example of Slager not knowing how to publish online ( by adding an update without a date in the middle of an article that doesn't have a date either),
and his making himself an example of Godwin's Law,
he has the unmitigated gall to call us propagandists when he is the the only one around that fits the definition.

Politicians know how to do this best--and we shouldn't be surprised that ragboy is the puppet of the bos. Take the people's minds off the issues such as the computer audit, swift's beach, maple springs road, etc.

This column that never ceases to be updated is a smokescreen to distract the public from THE FACT THAT THEIR BUDDY HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH HITTING A LADY WITH A CRIMEWATCHMOBILE!!!

Molly, thanks - I admit I patted myself on the back thinking of that :)
Bob Brady as
Hamatron -
Like I said, if he had half the smarts he thinks he does he'd figure out how to format a website and would have put the update in the logical place - at the beginning of the article -
plus he'd have dated it (and would date his articles too)
-- he'd also learn to put spaces between his paragraphs...
but hell, I'd settle for him learning how to edit his long winded "articles".
I read his free page because he is the mouthpiece of the BOS and we find out what they are up to from him. You can bet anything they want to get oout will be posted on his free page.

Okay, let's try this on for size:
If the Selectmen show up for the meeting, then they are are admitting they are unhappy with themselves and how they are running the town, based on the stated reason for the metting.
I think if they show up, that proves a lot!
As I said in another thread, press, specifically Slager, would NOT allow people to speak openly without targeting them in his paper. That goes against what this meeting is about.
Other than that, if people are unhappy, they will show up. There is no exclusion based on ethnic origin, religion, age, or sexual orientation.

You are exactly right Larry. The people who do show up, since the purpose of the meeting has been well announced, would mean that they are unhappy with the way the town is being run.
Bobo and bos take notice. LOL. Good one.
If ragboy gets in, you can be sure some people would not speak since they know they would be targets of lies and libel, fiction and baseless speculation. In fact, some may not attend if they think the ragboy is going to be allowed in.
I still think that if the town is renting the space to private organizations, then those organizations have the right to allow or disallow whomever they choose. Has anyone checked with the school people or school committee on their room rental policy?

Larry I agree, I know if I were a Selectman here in town I would show up at the meeting. Because I should be representing ALL citizens in town not just those that agree with me.I would like to see Mr Cruz speak at the meeting, to get his thoughts on his first few months on the job, and if being a Selectman is everything he thought it would be.
I have noticed that he does cast many NAY votes giving Bruce fits because he cannot claim later that the actions they took were unanimous.

BoBo the HoBo checked. Basiclly he was told that Bob Brady will be responsible for the decisions he makes about what to do with the space. Isn't it baffling that the HoBo spends so much time trying to destroy the good works of others rather than get a job that will support his family. Strange priorities. It just goes to show you that his own self-interest is more important than his family.

You actually hear Mr. Cruz? I have trouble hearing what he says, which isn't often and is usually just to vote. I am disappointed in him. Sure, at first you expect a new selectman to feel his way around and not be too vocal. But the election was in April and so much has happened, that I'd like to hear his opinion on the issues that are brought up.
I was trying to be hopeful and give the guy a chance, but I think some of you who have blogged here are right, he is just a seat warmer put into the chair by the Donahue machine, which, in my opinion, is running out of gas.
I am not forgetting that the first we "heard" from him was in the article that said he saw Makepeace trucks hauling gravel on MS road which the Makepeace lawyers quickly refuted. Then I "heard" his voice in the 6 minute exec. session which seemed to show he was all for the witch hunt.
Another reason to show up at the meeting. Imagine what a difference it would have made if Cara Winslow--who got my vote--had won.
