If you are employed by the town of Wareham, odds are you already know you are ill advised to read this site from work.
I'm told by several people the Selectmen are now scanning logs to track your reading habits and specifically targeting https://warehamwater.cruelery.com
Presumably, this is NOT the case if you read the 'fake' Wareham Observer site. Whatever you might find to giggle about here, it's not worth losing your job.
Please, wait until you get home or use a proxy.

No big surprise there. If anyone thinks some of the selectmen are not out to get certain people then they are a fool. What is next, burning books they don't like? Haven't we seen that somewhere before?

The town clerks office is the most professionaly run office. Excellant record keeping, too. Go gentle. The are not deserving of some comment I've read.

If you can read any other websites from town owned computers (during breaks and lunch of course) you should be able to read any other websites. (Won't get into porn issue as it would sidetrack the topic.)
That being said, if you are worried about someone tracking what websites you read, get an iPhone, turn OFF WiFi, and log on from the satellite. There is NO WAY they can track your Internet use that way.

NOTICE: The town's computer policy says you cannot use the computers for personal use during lunch and breaks. So, be advised if you work for town.
Can you really be fired for using the computer for personal use at work? I would imagine you should be reprimanded first. Also, they can't just fire or punish one or two people they hate or are targeting without firing or punishing everyone who uses the town computers for personal business. I see more legal bills coming. The winner? Kopelman and Prostitute--you pay us--we give you what you want regardless of the law. Just my opinion, of course.

Again for town employees:
With an iPhone, Blackberry, Palm or any smartphone (link for reviews) you can log onto the Internet and read this or any other site where you can get a 3G satellite signal. These smartphones also enable a WiFi connection if an open on is within range. I expect the WiFi at your town hall is a closed network so if you log onto the Internet it will automatically go to the 3G network.
If your current cell phone contract allows you to upgrade without a penalty look into doing so to a smartphone.
If anybody hassles you during a break at work for using an iPhone, the newest model ($200) enables you to take sound videos.
