Hey, hey!! What's this? Something on Ragman's site that Bruce and Brenda got in a fight Tuesday night? I didn't know they had a meeting Tues night.
--------------------------------------
FROM RAGMAN's "Tensions Flare at Selectmen's Meeting"
"Chairman Bruce Sauvageau accused fellow selectmen Brenda Eckstrom and Jane Donahue of being ill-prepared to discuss issues pertaining to the meeting.
“If people came to this meeting unprepared, then shame on us,” Sauvageau said.
“Shame on you,” Eckstrom shot back.
-----------------------------------------
Oh God! Bruce and Brenda and Janey going at it! AND IT WASN'T TELEVISED?! Oh and worse, who do I root for?!
I love it! I love it! I knew it would only be a matter of time before they turned on themselves!

I tried to watch the meeting but it wasn't being televised and there was nothing to indicate the meeting would be telecast later. I will call and see if WCTV will be playing it. Geeze, the bos gets caught plotting against town employees and we no longer can see the bos meeting love from our the comfprt of our homes. The tv is the only way some of us who have young children can keep informed.

My God, a fight between Brucey, Brenda, and Janey and it's not on TV? God, the Ragman's head must be spinning trying to figure out who he should jeer. The power elite probably drove them to this fight.
Please God, let there be a tape. This should be on pay per view.

The headline should have read, "We've been drinking the Bindas kool-aid for so long we muffed the Maple Springs Road agenda up in the shadow of a town audit"

The craziest thing is that the trucks are still running every day. They can't stop them because they have business operating at the end of the road. All that work for nothing....and an illegal speed limit that leaves it open for people to speed down a road near families and children. Does any of this make sense?

Breaking News: Brucey, Brenda, and Janey get into a fight. Ragman is hospitalized with severely sprained lips pulled in 3 different directions because he can't figure out whose ass to kiss on this one.
Let's take bets. Who's Ragman going to jeer over this fight?

Back to the reason for the "tension." It has long been known that the meeting "packets" are ready for the selectmen the Friday before the Tues. meeting so the bos can all be prepared by having read their packets in advance. Some of the selectmen open their packets at the beginning of the meeting--Bruce and John C for sure--this from eyewitness testimony. That is why you see them reading stuff on the fly and speaking without careful thought.
And Bruce accuses Brenda who is known to pick up her packet early and actually read some of it ahead of time of not being prepared?--priceless.
The meeting was posted as a workshop--the agenda is on the town site--and those don't typically get recorded. The infamous road was on the agenda as road policies or something like that. I believe the meetings are still open to the public even if they aren't televised.
ALERT: I have a feeling this bos is going to do away with citizen's participation. They didn't always do this, and they have the right to get rid of it. We shouldn't consider it a right, although I do believe citizen's have a right to speak to the bos with their concerns and not be insulted in return. Having it on public tv keeps them somewhat in control. I have seen other emails from the grand poobah of the bos and he actually called the emailer names. Talk about no class.

Arrange with cable to put on your own show to be aired immediately after the BOS meeting. I expect the BOS meeting is the most watched local access cable show, so this would be the perfect time to slot your own response show.
Residents who were at the BOS meeting in person could drive right over to the studio to join the panel discussion. The regulars would watch it on TV, take notes, share ideas with each other, and be ready to discuss it when it ended.
What with far more people watching the BOS meeting on cable than attend, if they try to cut off citizen participation there this would thwart their purpose.

I am pretty sure he called me names! I think Citizen's participation has been instrumental in spreading the Selectmen's agenda, but when it is used to voice concerns ABOUT the Selectmen and ITA, they want to ban it. Do they think can stop the citizens from voicing concerns?
I think it's time Sauvageau returns to private life and allows this town to heal.

An update on the Great Brucey vs. Brenda vs. Janey three-way fight from Tuesday night.
Apparently the big issue was that Janey questioned whether the letter from Town Counsel gave them the authority to close Maple Springs. Sweet Brucey said he talked to counsel earlier in the day and counsel told him it was ok, but Janey said that's not good enough it should be in the letter. Brucey then chastized Brenda and Janey for not calling town counsel to find out for themselves.
What, hello, how much does it cost for a town counsel call, Sweet Brucey wants everyone to call now?
It was enough that Ragman gave him a jeer (a usual lame jeer - Brucey woke up on the wrong side of the bed, Ragman says) but Ragman went on to say that it was a poor showing and had the workshop been televised, the power elite would have had a field day with it.
A reporter glad something is not on tape? Huh?!

Who would know better than bobo which side of the bed Sweet Brucie was on?
