I was looking through the web for information on the Selectmen and ran across the following website:

Apparently there is a recall effort already under way???

Wow!  Hopefully there are four dedicated people willing to take on the role of selectmen, if the recall does succeed.  The mess created by this group of selectmen will require a monumental effort to repair.  However, I would support any attempt to make it better.

There are viable candidates out there. Hopefully, this group will try to include all the dissenting groups in Wareham.

IHL,
Let's start small....4 Selectmen is pretty large task. Most of the people who enjoy free reign and no rules will likely leave after the Selectmen are recalled.

I know everyone is angry at the bos and slager, but I don't think a recall is the answer- especially against 4 selectpersons.  I'm more in favor of waiting till April.  I hope there will be strong candidates to stand up to cronan and sweet brucie.  I think that is the best option.

On another note, someone who is a ragreader - even goes out and pays for it - told me today that this week she read the courier.  She said she was shocked by the marked difference between the papers.  she was surprised to find the courier full of positive articles and stories.

Mixie,
I don't think a recall will be successful, not for all 4 selectmen, but if we could recall 2 and have two viable candidates, wouldn't that work? I don't know who is running the recall site, but I'm going to lend my support. If doesn't come to fruition, then I'll toss my support behind a couple of candidates I am pretty sure will be running!

I'm a little skeptical of that recall site.  Maybe it's legit, but I wouldn't put it past the BOS crew to create a fake recall site to try and get information on people.

Good morning bloggers,  I can put to rest that the site is legitimate.  I must also state that it is not mine but that I'm familiar with the effort to recall most of the elected officials.  It would not be my recommendation to engage in a recall now but wait until the annual election to remove anyone not worthy of serving the citizens of Wareham.  Wareham can no longer afford, both in dollars and cents and in reputation, this compliment of "leaders".  Our legal costs have sky rocketed, moral is at an all time low, we are an embarrassment all the way to the state house and our management is unqualified.  If the timing were better, I would support recalling all of them.  Let's just hope they don't cause us further financial damage and embarrassment before next April.  What we need is a HUGE grassroot's effort to engage our neighbors to take notice and vote in upstanding qualified cadidates.  All in favor ?  Say, Aye !

Aye. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear everyone is speaking the same language. We, collectively, are tired of the current slate of elected officials, but we don't seem to be able to marry all the dissenting groups. You want to answer that Mr. Brady?

Larry,  Pleased to meet you.  I'm assuming you want me to answer "why the dissenting groups are not married"?  My simple answer is that the citizens need to be organized to share their concerns together with an organized effort to make changes, as needed.  Blogging on sites like this and commenting after various articles in the local media is great for venting frustration but it doesn't bring about change.  If you are convinced that the citizens in Wareham want change, then I will create an opportunity for anyone and everyone unhappy with the leadership to gather and voice their concerns.  From there, the citizens (we) need to reach out to our respective neighborhoods to educate others to what and why changes are needed.
I'm willing to do that if you think Wareham is ready.  All in favor ?  Aye !

Mr. Brady,
That is what I was getting at. How to gather all the groups in one place to create a powerful grassroots effort. Obviously, you reached out to this site in order to get the ball rolling, which is a step in the right direction.  If all the groups can work together, this could be the catalyst for a great Wareham.

As far as venting and writing letters, I'm not quite done with that yet. I still have some issues I want to get out to the public that drive the point home about the activity and interaction of the Selectmen. I believe it will be further evidence of why we need change.

Larry, I share your sentiment and am willing to work together to bring about changes needed.  I would recommend strongly using the Courier and the S-T in addition to this site.  Keep up the good work.
