I tuned in right at the start when Bill came up to the table. He asked his questions. When he got to the wife beating one, instead of just keeping quiet, Brucie repeated twice that he "loves his wife more than his life." Why the need to say that twice? Sounds like he might be trying to convince someone.
But then, when they told Bill to leave, a woman sitting behind Bill got up to leave at the same time. I couldn't see her head because the camera angle cut it off. Brenda calls out--isn't that the woman whose husband is screwing around on her?
My husband was sleeping during the show. When I told him what Brenda said his comment was short and to the point--What white trash--of course, that's just his opinion.
Who was the woman? And can you imagine saying such a thing? I agree with hubby---white trash, no class. Of course, you guessed it, that's just my opinion.

Fiirst, what is wrong with this picture? When you take personal issues to a Board of Selectmen meeting, you end up sending the wrong signal. Whatever support you gain to remove a Selectmen goes quickly down the drain when this type of question (asked to get a specific negative response) is posed to the Selectmen. I do not support this type of behavior! It serves no purpose and just builds support for the Selectmen.
If Brenda said that, then she should be chastised for blurting out a statement that is completely out of decorum.
I am really miffed at this entire process. We have people provoking the Selectmen with personal issues and not town business. We also have Selectmen acting like idiots. This isn't politics, this is kindergarten

I am outraged at her statement. I am also outraged at Bill's line of questioning. In both cases, they showed poor taste and should be admonished. Bill should issue an apology to the board and specifically to Mr. Sauvageau. Mrs. Eckstrom should issue an apology to the woman and to the general public. This is not the type of behavior I would expect from people trying to improve Wareham. When you reduce the debate to personal insults, you have degraded the entire process.
If Slager does give her kudo for her behavior, it will show he is truly a puppet. He should show the decency to jeer her in light of her childish and inappropriate comments.

I was watching the tape and could not beleive Brenda's comments. I don't know which person she was talking to, because the camera was still on the speakers chair. It appreared she was talking to the young blonde girl, but cannot confirm that.
She should be admonished by the board and issue a puclic apology as well.

I watched a good portion of the meeting, especially the Makepeace presentation. At first, it seemed as though there was agreement and happiness, but when they came to the sewer portion, I could see the accord go south. Makepeace had it's act together and I hope they can get the cooperation needed to advance the projects.

It's already free on his site Molly. What I find the most interesting is he is almost giving Brenda a pass. Her explanation is lame at best. She claims to have not known who the lady was and was referring to an earlier discussion. In either case, she is acting as a Selectmen and should not have made the comments. She did apologize and say she should have not said what she said.
Of course Slager went through the whole history of the Pillsbury deal, which was a waste of print.
The best thing I have read today is on S-T in a response to Bill's letter. Frogsrule clearly stated what happened and what might happen. It's a must read!

The meeting will be played again tomorrow at noon. I wish I knew how to record from cable tv. I missed it.
Brenda's reaction to Bill last night just reinforces what we all believe. The BOS is out for vengence and they don't care who they hurt in the process. Strike back any way they can. Yup Brockton Brenda you have not an ounce of class...

If the quick blurb in Slager's article is Brenda's apology, then we should all be outraged. You see, there is this switch...deep in your brain that should turn off your mouth until you are able to process the complete thought....it appears Brenda's is broken.
