IN A LETTER TO THE STANDARD TIMES MS MCLEOD WRITES THIS INSANE LETTER:
Has this newspaper forgotten that for years on end there were so many members of the Board of Selectmen with conflicts of interest that the town became bogged down in self-interest? Mary Jane Pillsbury, former library director, was a town employee/selectman whose supervisor was the town administrator by day, and she supervised him by night, as selectman. Dennis Damata and Wayne Sylvester were police officers, Susan Williams Gifford was married to the municipal maintenance director, Cindy Chamberlain Parola was married to the harbormaster, and the beat goes on and on.
I WOULD LIKE MCLEOD TO PUBLICY STATE WHAT VOTE MRS PILLSBURY, DAMATA, SYLVESTER EVER VOTE ON THAT WOULD BE DESCRIBED AS A CONFLICT ON INTEREST. YOU CANNOT JUST THROW THIS OUT WITHOUT BACKING UP YOUR LIES. WHAT VOTE DID MRS P EVER VOTE ON IN REGARDS OF THE LIBRARY. SHE ALWAYS ABSTAINED FROM LIBRARY VOTES. DAMATA AND SYLVESTER ABSTAINED FROM POLICE MATTERS. IF THEY HAD EVER VOTED ON SUCH MATTERS A VOTE WOULD HAVE BEEN CAST AND IS IN RECORD. SHOW ME WHERE THIS OCCURED. LETS SEE MCLEOD ARENT YOU THE ONE WHO WAS STEALING MONEY FROM YOU POSITION OF COA DIRECTOR AND WAS CAUGHT BY THEN TA JOE MURPHY? WERENT YOU THE ONE WHO USED TO WRITE FOR THE RAG? ARENT YOU THE ONE WHO HAD TO RESIGN FROM COA DIRECTOR OR BE FIRED BECAUSE THE SENIORS COULD NOT STAND HOW THEY WERE TREATED BY YOU? ARENT YOU THE ONE WHO RAN FOR SELECTMAN AND THEN SHORTLY RESIGNED COSTING THE TOWN THOUSANDS IN A SPECIAL ELECTION? CHRIST YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO CRITIZE OTHERS? GO BACK TO THE ROCK YOU CRAWLED OUT FROM , NO ONE IS LISTENING

Thank you, IH8S, saved me the trouble again. I'll simply note Macleod spitefully twiddled her thumbs in office until Joe Murphy died, then cost the town $9000 to fill the seat she vacated.

Little history about Mcleod: wasn't qualified to head COA, had agenda towards then TA Joe Murphy..became selectman, was completely inneffective..was banging former TA Charlie Balszun, who obviously like the ragman was a chubby chaser!!

I remember many votes taken where bos members abstained because the issues somehow related to their own departments. I also remember the McLeod debacle when she ran for the bos to "save" the town. She almost immediately resigned which was a good thing for the town, but it did cost us money. When Mrs. Pillsbury resigned she did so at a time when it was close enough to the regular election that it didn't cost the town anything.
I think McLeod "left" the rag shortly after her one and only article criticizing the bos. I remember being shocked when I read it. The one and only time I agreed with any of the crap she wrote for the rag.
She is part of the crowd who wants to take away our votes at town meeting by changing our town government to a mayoral form. Her criticism of the people who wrote the town charter is telling. This is the same charter that is the supposed bible that this bos claim they live to protect.
I'm waiting for the charter review committee to "advise" the same thing--Vote John Donahue for mayor. The roller coaster ride in Wareham has just begun.

MRS P DID CHOOSE TO HOLD OFF RESIGNING SO THAT SHE DID NOT COST THE TOWN ANYTHING IN A SPECIAL ELECTION.
