Selectman Sauvageau announced at the last regular BOS meeting that this week's "Workshop" - scheduled for the Multiservice Center tonight at 7:15pm, after an hour long Executive Meeting - would not be televised.

It appears the Selectman are planning to eliminate televised meetings altogether. I'm awaiting confirmation.

Wouldn't that really violate open meeting law?  Let's say for instance, I am totally disabled, on oxygen etc, and can not possibly make it to town hall.  Isn't televising the meeting a 'reasonable accommodation'? Why does the BOS get to make the decision to not televise meetings?  I wonder what the attorney general would have to say about that?

I'll be indisposed this evening. Could someone here check this 'Select Board Broadcast Live' link on or about 7:15pm?

Appreciate it.

Awright. I'm on laptop outside townhall and can't check to see whether or not it's televised but I sat in on the opening of the meeting... begun a half hour past it scheduled start.

While everyone milled around outside the meeting, I over heard the cover story for the town's disabled web site; blame heaped on the California host provider, an alibi that's easy enough to check.

Gotta run.

TBL

Considering the town computer raid, this is some very suspicious timing to not have the "workshop" televised.

There was an announcement made at the end of last week's "quickie" that this week's meeting wasn't going to be televised...has someone heard that future meetings are no longer going to be televised also?

Wareham Community TV director Jay Heard and technical staffer Steve Ruiz arrived at the Multiservice Center this evening, set up for tonight's broadcast and were ordered by Selectman Sauvageau not to record this evening's meeting.

Yes. Until I can confirm what I heard, that's all I can say.

Yes, they are saying they will not advertise, but let's see what the power of the people can do, they do not tell us what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
