How did we get another school without taxpayers ever having a say? (I don't recall any town meeting vote). I can't believe this hasn't come up before as the school has been around a couple of years at least - I even occasionally come across people who have no idea this school exists.
I believe the school is mainly grant funded, but what happens when that funding runs out. We taxpayers will have to fund this through the school budget...we have no more money and the budget is insufficient as it is (for the 7 schools we knew we had when it was set - 2 of which have been closed due to lack of funds). As it is the Co-op principal has come before the school committee in the past asking for money.
I think stuff like this speaks to some of our real issues as a town...grants and the like are wonderful and can bring us a lot but somebody has to look down the road and say how can we as a community sustain this if funding runs out. Sometimes the right choice is no thank you...no matter how wonderful the idea or opportunity.
There is too much backdoor, behind the scenes decision making. I would like to believe some of the newer selectmen joined the board to change this, but I believe they may have lost their way with these make someone pay at all costs crusades.
We cannot keep robbing Peter to pay Paul to fund some idea or project and not expect it to come due some day.

They're inept managers obsessed with fealty and a proven disinterest in transparent government. Smoke and noise to cover their frauds.

Sadly, judging by their silence, OneWareham seems like more the same.

Yes, this refers to the "alternative school" housed in the annex building behind the Boys and Girls Club. I believe we also take out of town students with reimbursement.

yes i was quite upset about this about two years ago my granddaughter was attending a kindergarten in town and the teachers had a wish list.  we donated supplies for children who have never done anything wrong because we were told there wasnt enough money.   However we can have a school for people who cannot follow the rules detracting from the resources of the kids who do what is asked of them.

as if this wasnt rediculous enough we pay another principle SALARY.  all you need is a security guard and a doberman for these punks.

more of the same cater to the sick lame and lazy at the expense of good kids
