Mark 3/9/09 down on your calendar, folks, because today is the day when the Ragman stopped being a journalist.

Well, he had stopped long ago, but today is the day it became clear to all.

The Ragman took to his website this morning and penned a column that could double as his application to the funny farm.  In it, he outlined a vast, widespread, far reaching conspiracy against Wareham that included noneother than the CBW, the local public access station, Geoff Swett, David Smith, the Courier, John McAulliffe, Steve Ruiz, Jay Heard, the Boston based TV stations, the hatebloggers, Rush Limbaugh, the Fox News Channel, the Republican Party, and Mary Jane Pillsbury (yes, amazingly almost 6 months after her passing).  I just wish the Ragman had not run out of room, because he could of gone on to explain the roles played by J. Edgar Hoover, Bigfoot, Elvis, and the Backstreet Boys.  Surely, they were all involved as well.

What was the goal of this dastardly plot?  Why, it was noneother than to hold a debate between the candidates for local office, including the open seat on the board of selectmen.

The Ragman called for "all non-CBW candidates" to pass on the debate this morning, and by this afternoon, he was boasting that the non-CBW candidates were not going to be participating.  If that isn't a timeline that reeks of coordination between the Ragman and the pro-BOS political forces, I don't know what is.  The Ragman apparently speaks for the "non-CBW candidates."

What, they can't speak for themselves?  They need a Ragman to do it for them?

You saw it today folks - a man who claims to be a journalist singlehandedly engineered a stop to a campaign event.  He crossed the line from journalist (well he crossed it long ago, but still) to political spokesman.  He wrote as if he speaks for these candidates.

Make no mistake about it.  This corrupt regime only survives because it controls the flow of information with an iron fist.  They rely on the Ragman to be the Enforcer who smears all dissenters. They want to pass a policy that puts a gag order on all town employees.  And now, they don't even want their candidate to answer questions from anyone other than from the ones handpicked by the Democrat Town Committee at OPL Night.

The more debates the merrier, any individual or group has the right to propose and host one.  Certainly, the Ragman could have gotten a copy of the tape and spun the debate in the BOS candidate's favor...why he melted down today is quite odd indeed.

CHEERS to David Smith, who had been asked to be the moderator of this debate, which lead to an onslaught of disgraceful personal attacks from the Ragman on Smith's character.  Smith called the Ragman a liar.

Ragman, who knows what exactly happened in your short lived South Shore journalism career.  But Smith works for an actual newspaper company.  You work for a paper you bought from a Cat Lady with your wife's money.  So you trying to besmirch someone else's journalism career will always be laughable.

Today the town lost a debate, but saw the Ragman in all his disturbing glory, and perhaps that will begin to "pry people's eyes open."
