I feel as though I must correct some of the incorrect statements of the BOS and Slager concerning the library. They are blaming the Acting library director for the library being open only 25 hours as a reason for losing certification. Guess what folks?? TA Sanguinet TOLD Ms. Pizzolato that the library can only be open 25 hours. He is her boss and she is required to follow his instructions. But did he say anything when this was brought up in the BOS meeting? No. He is afraid of this out of control BOS and will not stand up for his employees even when he is responisible for their actions.

Also, Slager stated the library only lost 1 and 1/2 employees. The truth is 6 part time employees were completely let go. Three part time employees had their hours cut in half. Two full time employees had their hours cut in half. Two full time employees were union and their time could not be cut. The acting director is full time. What do the full time workers do on Monday and Tuesday? ALL THE WORK the other employees used to do!!! By the way, a first year journalism student could find this info out by checking with the town's employment records or seeking out his spy. the town clerk for info. Yet he continues to lie to suit his twisted tabloid journalism.

These people are also blaming the MBLC instead of taking the reponsibility for decreasing the library's budget. They convinced the elderly they would lose wheels on meals if the budget wasn't cut. The elderly and the library haters with their tacky t-shirts voted at town meeting to cut the budget along with the BOS. Many people at the meeting spoke out against the library. They voted no on the library's budget. Let's place the blame where it belongs.

There was no secret about the standards the MBLC uses. Read David Smith's editorial in the Courier or Wicked Local for a great analysis of the situation.

The so-called library lobby warned everyone multiple times that the library would lose certification. The false outrage of the BOS is almost comical if one did not know that there has been a long standing vendetta against the library by these characters.

To blame the acting library director and the library supporters for the loss of certification is disgusting. This group doesn't take responsibility for anything.

Oh and by the way, didn't they scold Mr. McAuliffe for adding a furlough to the budget and wasn't that one of the reasons he was fired? Big surprise they are now talking furloughs. Gee, maybe if we had used McAuliffe's budget, the library would still be certified. This board can't get along with anyone. When will the people of Wareham wake up? Slager is a hack who doesn't know what the word research means. This board of selectmen on a personal level (repos, tax liens, bankruptcy, suspened licenses etc.) are an embarassment. On a political level they are totally incompetent working on personal vendettas against every department head. I am losing hope for the town of Wareham.

They have, I think, at least in numbers inclined to vote the current board out of office... two town meetings from now. That wait is a painful prospect, isn't it?

BS & BS Ltd exploited genuine disenchantment when they divided and conquered Wareham but the only positive to emerge since is the growing awareness of the wreckage a handful of determined scumbags can create.

And yet here we sit, like minded souls, and not one resident - not even a candidate for town office - has put their given name to their outrage. Nor have any yet offered any coherent idea how to dig out of this mess.

Care to start the ball rolling?

I can't stop laughing now that the Ragman and the BOS are taking their cries of library corruption out of Wareham and trying to take down the entire state library system.

"The MBLC is just a lobbying group! It's just a lobbying group!"

They're not a lobbying group.  They're appointed by the GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS!!!

Molly, thank you for saying that.  I remember the bos dictating the number of hours.  I searched the S-t for an article statung it was demanded of SP that the hours be set at 25; but I couldn't find the article.  I remember,  someone wrote in on the S-t blog that the BOS's responsibility should have been to set the budget and then leave it up to the acting director as how to best use the money.  Only in the rag can employees be held responsible for poor decisions by the BOS or TA.
