I just noticed in bob's editorial from last week, in which he blasts businesses in the tri-town for using their freedom of speech, oh my head, he says, "I know some people believe a local newspaper should serve as the public relations arm of the town."
I'm lost here he's referring to himself, right? Maybe I should ask bruce.
And, how dare anyone else have an opinion on how the news should be reported! Bad, bad people, how dare you question the king! Never, never, never, never, never question bob, he knows best and he'll keep rubbing your face in the cold hard truth, like it or not, every week and you'll like it!
Maybe the ragman is living the dream, meaning of course Joseph Pulitzer's dictum that "newspapers should have no friends." I guess that includes his wife and eventually his kids.

If I was his wife I'd tell him to get a job and support his family. How embarrassing at a dinner party "What does your husband do for a living?" This could be a whole topic! What does this woman say? I actually feel bad for his wife, not so much for his kids, kids always love their parents no matter what and they should (even if they are the children of the ragman).

Well I think ms.ragwmn was overheard talking with some friends. Her conversation might have been " My husband is the ragman. He doesn't have time to work. He's too busy with his hobby - in some small town far away from here. He puts out a weekly rag. It used to be free, but now he is trying to sell it, but no one will buy it and Liz won't come to take the extra papers anymore. At first I didn't understand why he would want tp play all day instead of helping to support the family, but I finally realized it feeds his ego, makes him feel important and it gives him the weekly opportunities to whine about being the victim. BUT most importantaly, it gets him out of the house and out of my hair. Sigh...it would be nice to get some little things for myself, but at least he is a tax deduction."
