I find it interesting that the latest article on the rag's website decides to spin a story that they say Chief Joyce is "spinning" similar to the "how dare you use your freedom of speech to speak out against my freedom of speech".
I guess bob isn't planning on being in business when Joyce wins the suit against him, and I say wins the suit against him as every time he pulls one of these tantrums he basically adds fuel to the fire. His attorney, assuming he has one, should be informing him that he has a, "reasonable expectation at limiting future damages until such time that the disagreement can be adjudicated." I'm sure that Joyce's attorney is hearing victory bells every time bob writes one of these pieces, I can hear it now, "it is obvious how this man has harassed my client over and over, even after his actions were made blatantly clear by bringing this suit forward he continued to punish my client through his own brand of vigilante justice."
Maybe I found the true purpose, ring the suit forward and watch bobby self-destruct in response as he piles up the damages. Basically it is tantamount to being involved in an accident and then backing your car up and ramming the other party over and over while yelling obscenities at them. If bob can't see that he might be a little close to the story to be objective he really needs a good lawyer to slap him around.

Joyce claims the judge at Sauvageau’s arraignment never found that there was no factual basis for the arrest.
Way to call a sitting judge a liar, Slager. You've finally cracked.

bob your so pathetic i know the spin article and title was just a direct response to my post yesterday.
i am so self important like you that i now also believe everything that is posted spoken or heard in the tri town area is a direct result of something i have spoken, alluded too, or published.
you had it right all along bob i feel so free and powerful like my will could become the will of the public and i dont need facts or common sense i just need a pathetic old shut in who talks to cats, maybe romance her a little (yuck) and get my own print pulpit.
i will be successful however as i will go one step further bob and start selling polyester prayer cloths blessed by you guessed it "ME" and with each premium subscription bought i will destroy the lives, careeer and reputation of anyone you pick buy two subscriptions and ill destroy two lives.
you see bob the whole free paper idea. naaah doesnt work because you get what you pay for in this country.
well you know what i mean bob i guess what the rest of us have to pay for. rent, printing presses you know.
advertisement costs will also be low as some of my revenue will come from a new snake oil elixir that i plan to market under the same name as the paper "FALSE GOD'
i will be using some of the key ingredients that seem to work around here. i will have a male political pet project who i will worship in mind and body. who to pick though all the good ones are gone. if only hitler were still alive oh well im sure that someone will come along that i could spend an inordinate amount of time defending in undefendable situations once again proving that i am a god and can change the hearts and minds of at least 7 people who read my paper
i will wear a signature plaid coat and my hair will be ironed perfectly straight. i will tell anecdotes about my wife and children even after they leave me because there just isnt that much news or at least im having a hard time finding any on s&t website.
or i guess i could go out and get the news. maybe even look into one of those people called a reporter . of course i wll have to edit all their work as im sure it will be filled with pesky facts and truths.
alas i will figure it out though. i do thank you bob and sorrry for the disagreememts before. i now see the light bob
you are my inspiriation bob. do you love me bob?

This is a perfect example of the type of story that drives me nuts with this paper. He mentions the Courier as the place where Joyce's response was printed. Whether the Courier has taken a "side" or not, you wouldn't know it from the NEWS STORY that is in their paper and that is my point. You can never read a NEWS STORY in the Observer without any type of opinion. It is almost like he can't help promote the fact that he has either injected himself into the story or let you know what "side" he is on. THAT is not news.
He would actually fill more space in the paper if he reported the NEWS as NEWS and then the OPINIONS as OPINIONS. This "me against the world" angle is exhausting!!

He has no other choice. Slager's already alienated anyone in Wareham who might have told him a credible story.

See...that is what I don't get. It is not your job as a journalist to get people to like you; it's your job to report the news. He simply can't do that....he has to find a way to include himself or his paper as part of most major news stories. He wants you to believe that he is fair and balance and the only one around that is after the truth but that begins with reporting the facts...ALL the facts....and then if he wants to express his opinion in an OPINION piece, then he should do that.
Ideally, he should have a reporter report the news and as editor, he should stick to the opinion page. I get that it costs money to do that but there is no line between news and opinion in his paper and that is partially the point that Chief Joyce is going to make. News is news and opinion is opinion and his NEWS pieces that include opinion and one-sided stories and incorrect information are hardly ever called out as "opinion pieces" and as someone pointed out, he continues to give Joyce fuel for his fire.

that is the point he spins everything and then pointedly accuses others of spin when they rebut with verifiiable facts.
i would love to see chief of police, cops, bruce, slager, in a room with all the verifiable documentation from the registry, and a lie detector.
it will never happen
i hate to harp and i know that i am being jealous but does it bother anyone that people who dont pay their bills can vacation out of the country. guess im the gutless coward who feels like i should pay my bills and go without

I seriously doubt he knows how but that's immaterial. Slager's mission begins and ends with acting as house organist for Sauvageau and his hand picked stooge choir.
For the sake of argument, though, reporters are trusted to attribute with accuracy or their questions are ignored.
