Did you guys read the two letters to the editor on the rag website? It is scary but there are actually people that believe the stuff Slager writes.
The first letter is from a lady in West Wareham that is clearly a dope because she seems to think charges being dismissed, mean not guilty, when dismissal of charges is routine business for the court system. Also she basically is comparing Wareham cops to the Nazi government of Germany during the World War Two era. Get a grip lady! Yes, there is fear in Wareham and it is not created by the police. It is created by a one Robert Slager with crazy stories of conspiracy and retribution.
The second letter is from an out of touch and out of the loop old timer that apparently used to live in the ham and now lives in Florida.

The rag has a senile dementia fan club and they don't all sit on the finance committee. Why some, like warehamprophetess, are tasked to monitor us. Slager need only ask "subscribers of the Observer Dossier" to get "hundreds of responses". Yuh, right.
Want out-to-lunch lunacy, you don't have to wander off the front page. In a squib slugged, "Bad To The Last Drop", Slager writes, "Water Commissioner Michael Martin said new testing techniques would be put into place, but once again the water supply became contaminated right before Memorial Day weekend, costing local businesses millions of dollars in lost earnings and expenses."

I think that Bob is so desperate at this point that he's either writing his own letters to the Editor, or he's having friends of his do it.
Do you know why there's no huge outcry about the "out of control" police department? Because they are NOT OUT OF CONTROL!
The majority of the public supports the Police. Those that take a moment to interact with any of them realize that are PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU. Not taxpayer programmed robots with no feeling or emotions.
The law abiding, or REAL community active citizens (not the "i'm a community activist now that something bad has happened and I can get my 15 minutes of fame") know what the Police are all about, and overall respect their efforts.
The Rag supports those that have had REPEATED run-ins with the law. Who now have a pulpit to take the heat off themselves and put it on the Police.
Where have I seen this before.... 15 year old girl in the middle of Onset, Paul Andrade, Mike Kelley who was having his liquor license taken away, And Bruce Sauvageau, etc....
I'm willing to bet that if you checked the criminal history of any of the authors of Letters to the Editor, you'll see that they fall into the same company as above. That is, if they exist to begin with at this point.

The Police Dept is almost the last department they've yet to clean and gut and stuff with their own stiffs to paper over their frauds.
I can name an exception or two but why paint a target on them?

Paul Andrade's arrest and subsequent death was especially ominous. It meant Sauvageau/Slager are now willing to lie to any length - including using and discarding a plainly damaged man - just for noisy distraction.

Great post commonsense. If I was Joe Blow who didn't know any better I would be thinking WTF is wrong with the police force. The PD is made up of mostly easy going guys and gals who do a good job with very limited resources.

I just was looking over the Wareham Police log for 12/31/2008, the last arrest for 2008 was for operating after license suspension. Wait a minute! Slager said nobody gets arrested for that! Look for yourself 9:16 AM, case number 08-1815-AR, which by the way means the cops arrested or took out charges on criminal suspects on 1,815 occasions during 2008. Those are some big numbers, imagine what the PD could do wth proper funding and staffing levels.
Speaking of the police log. Why is the rag's version of the log so tiny? I know there is a lot of routine stuff in the log like building checks. But if you read the rag's version of the police log and you don't know any better, you would think that the police department doesn't do anything.

TBL -- that's because look who is editing it! This guy is crazy saying no one has been arrested for operating after suspension. It happens all the time. If they are not arrested they are summonsed into court. In Brucie's case do not forget he had an outstanding warrant -- so if he was not arrested on the operating after suspension charge he could have been brought in on the warrant.
