The Wareham Fire District By-law Review Committee has put together a questionnaire seeking information to assist in reviewing the district's by-laws.

All registered voters of the Wareham Fire District are asked to help the committee by answering the questionnaire. You can pick up the survey at the Water Department, located at 2550 Cranberry Highway in Wareham.

Folks these are your tax dollars. Please try to make it to the Water Dept. office on rt. 28 to pick up and fill out this survey.

Liz, did they include the following question?

Should the WFD be deleted?

probably not. How in the world do the overwhelming majority of the 351 cities & towns in the Commonwealth manage to survive without a separate water & fire district, let alone TWO. what do they know that escapes the voters/citizens/taxpayers in Wareham?

How 'bout this question: Can you support & justify the existence of such an entity as the WFD in terms of cost effectiveness? Given that two districts means that there are two of everthing, how can the overall cost of TWO FD possibly be anything but excessive?

And one more: Should the District(s) continue to be exempt from the dictates of Proposition 2 & 1/2?

Aside to DanO: I know, I know........

More questions for the WFD crowd,

How do you feel about having a governmental agency (WFD) being run as a family business? (ditto the OFD)

why is it necessary to have outside help for full-time personnel to do their jobs?

How many negative audit reports does it take for the voters/taxpayers/ratepayers of the District to cry "Uncle" and give it up?

More to come.....
