Good afternoon, all.
Addressed to: Mr. Bob Bliss.
It is sickening, is it not, to have to endure the piling on that focuses on bob Bliss. On one side, you have the Bos and their tool firing away. On the other side, you have the fosterchild and his playmate hurling grenades. As the late Dapper O'Neill (Boston City Council) might say, "its enough to make ya sick".
As we head toward the end of October, my thoughts drift to one of my favorite haunts (pun alert!), Salem, MA. In my travels there at this time of year, I learned the gripping story on one Giles Corey, a victim of the hysteria that we know as the Salem Witch trials. Mr. Corey was included in a Longfellow poem about the events, as well as being included as a character in Arthur Miller's play, "The Crucible".
Here's a short version. Mr. Corey was accused of being a "dreadful wizard", and was arrested. He refused to plead, guilty or not guilty. The penalty for not pleading was to be weighted down with stones, and more stones.
He was stripped naked, and a heavy board placed upon his chest. Stones were placed on the board. When asked to plead, he responded: "more weight". and again. It took three days for him to die, crushed beneath the weight of the stones.
The parallels between the orchestrators of the Salem witch hunts, and the modern day Bob Bliss witch hunt are obvious. The modern day witch hunt would like nothing better then to pile "more weight" on Mr. Bliss, that "dreadful wizard".
Bob. I am pleading with you. Do not let them turn you into the 21st century version of Giles Corey. This web site is available to you to fight their prevarications. Yes, you have taken legal steps, I know. But, there is also the court of public opinion, and they have a clear field at this point. And they will pound that advantage, as you well know.
Please don't tell them: "more weight".
signed, a friend.

If Bob has an ongoing case, it is not a good idea for him to be posting here. Further, the "paper" will rip into him, twist his words, and be judge and jury in print. Who needs that? Bob has managed to begin anew and heal. While no one likes to be driven out of a good job, working for the town is hell right now. Bob will get his day, probably his pay, and those who blamed him unfairly will still think they're right.
