Christopher Gay, who in no way can be construed as a power elitist (he's written support for some BOS initiatives in the past), has a letter to the editor in today's Standard Times.

Now, you might remember, the CBW was tarred and feathered in the Rag for proposing a TV debate with a newspaper reporter as moderator.  That's biased, but a free for all forum where Bruce and Brenda sit in the back and heckle anyone with a contrary opinion is completely fine.

Anyway, on Brenda's question about recall, Gay wrote:

"Selectman Brenda Eckstrom produced a jaw-dropping gaffe at the debate when she chastised Winslow for her alleged efforts to recall members of the current board.  If Winslow indeed supported such a move, voters have every right to know. But Eckstrom's leap of faith was a tactical blunder. Best to keep bombshells in the quiver of a private citizen.

What is remarkable, however, was Winslow's response. Rather than confirm or deny the allegation as requested, she simply dusted off her suit jacket and pressed forward. That maneuver showed courage in the line of fire, while Eckstrom came off as a coward."

Let's just replay that again.  "...Eckstrom came off as a coward."

Gay's letter wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement for Winslow, he expressed some criticism for her earlier in the letter.  But still, this letter was good to see.  It's one thing when "hatebloggers" complain, the Rag just labels them as  evil power elitists.  It's a completely different thing when people who can't be construed that way come out and make such criticism.

It's true.  Brenda's question was self-interested and self-centered.  Rather than ask questions that pertain to the town as a whole, she was only worried about asking a question that pertained to her and her select-buddies.

And that seems to be a running theme for this BOS.

The same crew that wanted to remove members or disolve a new clean water group because people opposed.

I was too impressed with Mr. Gay's letter.  I have seen him express his views in the past that have supported the BOS, and thought this particular letter spoke volumes of what really happened at Candidates Night.

Slager's version is too....wait for it Bobby.....

RE:Brenda Ecktrom - sometime labeled as "the Brockton Bitch" who keeps revisiting her roots - not too smart

Shouldn't a candidate for the important position of Selectman succomb to a background check? education?sanity? criminal? employment?

Almoost all the voting (Selectmen) conducted in public in the last eight years has been unanimous. Help me out on this subject!
