WCTV Director Jay Heard's decision to stop live streaming all town meetings - arguing cable companies prohibit live streaming local content by non cable subscribers - brought a swift rebuke from the BOS this week. Listen real close, you'll hear BOS Chairman Steve Holmes mumble cable companies, "don't give a rat's ass about that."
Wareham's contract with Verizon and Comcast is WCTV's primary funding source but the town, Holmes notes, is free to designate any local content provider it wants. Currently, there is no contract between Wareham and WCTV.
Holmes urged unconflicted applicants to step forward and fill its vacancies on the cable advisory committee.
