A bad car wreck just took out my phone poll. The woman driver appears shook up but ok. My house line and net service is liable to disappear any minute.

That's one way to defeat the squirrels. Awfully quiet here, traffic halted in both directions.

Reroute your travel plans accordingly.

That's quite a crash, and a good photo of the incident.

A helicopter crashed about a year ago, and the professional journalist/editor/owner of certain media sites, failed to get a nice picture, or story, for that matter.

How professional of you to have a camera at hand :)

Wow.. Glad she's ok (or seems to be). Is that the same place with the bad pothole you talked about?

Great pic, Bill. Looks like the vines are holding the pole up. Ever think of making a living as a photographer? ;)

Bill has talent, no doubt there.

Looks like they will have to replace the pole, maybe they will finally take down all those ugly vines.

Later the same week... Almost 24 hours of pole sitting from, all told, what seemed like 20 different trucks. This house's lines were the last sorted, with the same old choke vine/squirrel nesting to hold up the new poll.

The sink hole below that pole is of limited interest to anyone, just my own personal street theater and demolition amusement. I see it where I sit and have lost track of all the wrecks there. I have seen that poll tagged three times in ten years, though. That's a lot of expense for deferred street maintenance and I'm sure there are plenty worse in other parts of town.
