Good afternoon!

i read on the website of him who shall not be named that the DOR has "certified" (i.e. approved) the Town's assessed values for FY2012, the current fiscal year. What is NOT noted is whether the DOR has approved the submission by the Bd. of assessors of the New Growth for FY2012. The latter is a critical number in computing the FY12 tax rate.

On Tuesday evening, the T/A stated that they (not clear who "they" is) were in the 'process' of submitting data & forms to the DOR. OK, the assessors' side is nearly done, save for the New Growth. The question then becomes whether the Bureau of Accounts can review & approve the stuff submitted to them as part of the tax-rate setting process. But...

Has the Free Cash been certified as of July 1, 2012?

What is the status of the Town's Schedule A?

What is the status of such items as the Enterprise fund for the Sewer Treatment Plant (form A3), interdepartmental transfers (form B2), CPC funds (form A4)?

What other requirements has the Bureau of Accounts put on the Town in order to allow the tax rate for FY2012 to be approved?

When will Mr. Perry sign off on the Town's ReCap sheet.

It's all coming to the DOR at their busiest time of the year. Good luck.

Instant update !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am told that two of the key people at the DOR's Bureau of Accounts are gone for the rest of the year on vacation. What affect will this have on the Town's attempt to get a tax rate in time to mail tax bills by 12/31/2011? We'll see, won't we.
