I checked the town web site and the TA still hasn’t posted ads for the CEDA director, COA director or the town accountant.

Although the selectmen voted on a motion insisting the TA run an ad for the CEDA director their motion has been ignored. Steve made the mistake of not giving a time frame. They should have said by the next selectman’s meeting or by Dec 1st a definitive date was needed in the motion.

The firm we hired as town accountant has a contract until the end of Dec. If Andrews doesn’t run an ad soon we are going to be on the hook for an extension of the contract. You probably need two weeks to run the ad and another two weeks to interview. It looks like we are going to have to extend the contract and throw away more money.

When will we hire a COA director this has been going on since March? The staff and Susan were told that Susan would be interim director for 2 months. The new social services director is being paid out the COA budget $52,000 or so which means we can’t afford to hire a COA director. All the politicians in town say they care about the seniors when they are running for office and yet they don’t care if we have a COA director. When Debbie Bell quit it took them 9 months to hire a new director and it looks like we are going to take even longer this time. Does Andrews think we are stupid? Doesn’t he realize we know why he isn’t hiring a COA director?
