One of our coffee cronies got a  call about this yesterday,  The town is having a work summit of sorts also and the guest speaker is the Ex-Mayor of Lawrence.  Please correct me if I'm wrong but didnt Lawrence go bust under the watch of this mayor and our Town Administrator?

If the TA goes, he can truthfully say, "Hi, Senator...how are ya'?"

Maybe he should have WCTV go with him to capture it and add it to his broadcast?

I wonder..Did anyone happen to catch Andrews friend from Lawrence, former Mayor Michael Sullivan's presentation about development in Lawrence at "Wareham Works"?

Was it titled.."How to Make a City into the Laughingstock of the Commonwealth"

"Senator..how are you??"..How much you wanna bet he got to say it to Pacheco?

RE: Taunton Job Fair     I saw this on the news.  They stated only 10 tables were reserved that could offer employment.  Whoever was putting this on said their budget needed over 20-30 tables in order to cover the cost of publicity.

I have a 50+ relative that is now applying for welfare, after working all her life at only two jobs, the last one for 18 yrs.  Her unemployment was extended 3 times and now is over.  She has gone to hundreds of interviews, job fairs and staffing agencies.  She tried for jobs like coffee shops, sales clerk but all said she was overqualified and if a good offer came up she would leave so they couldn't hire her.  Jobs in her field told her she was qualified but they couldn't pay her what she was used to making and if a better rate job came, their training would be wasted.  She told them all that she just wanted an income and knew that she would never make what she did at her last job, but they wouldn't hire her.

I laughed when I heard the other night on the tv that there were less people on unemployment this month.  Right, they ran out of unemployment benifits so they are out of the system, but still not employed.

Absolutely correct, justme. Your benefits run out...you are no longer a statistic...you are still unemployed...but you don't count...
