"Intro to Town Meeting scheduled

An introduction to fall Town Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 16 at 1 p.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.

The meeting, hosted by Town Moderator Claire Smith, will offer information about the 91 articles on the agenda for the upcoming Town Meeting, which will occur on October 25. Proponents of the articles will also attend the pre-Town Meeting.

Attendees will be able to ask questions about the articles and about Town Meeting procedures. Debate about the articles, however, will not be allowed, Smith said, adding that those should be saved for Town Meeting.

The pre-Town Meeting is an effort of Smith and the Onset Protective League."

What a great idea!  Didn't the old Moderator Mr. Tabor do these, and I think even John Donahue tried one or two?  Maybe some of the "old-timers" (I say that with all respect due to them!) can tell us. 

Hopefully people can get questions answered, or give time for the right people to find the right answers. 

I hope people not familiar with how TM works will attend too.
