here is the letter.......

At this point, the media has been inundated with opinion pieces that condemn and chastise the “enemy”. Take a moment to examine that word and reflect on what Wareham has become. It is now a battleground between good and evil and “good and evil” is defined by which side you support. We read letters to the editor critical of candidates, incumbents and even private citizens! The authors present themselves as a concerned citizen but the reality is much deeper. It is difficult to discern truth from fiction unless you are acquainted with either the author or the subject matter. The problem is most citizens of Wareham have no interest in local politics unless it has a direct impact on their lives. I believe that time has come!

Here is just a short list of what your elected town officials have accomplished since their election:

•16 + open meeting violations (and counting)
•The highest legal expenses in the history of Wareham.
•4 Town Administrators (including an Interim Town Administrator that is still on the payroll) in a span of 3 years.
•At least 3 financial settlements with former town employees who were terminated by this group of Selectmen.
•A dozen outbursts during public meetings that have either embarrassed the town or caused tensions to escalate.
•Ignored legislative decisions from Town Meeting in order to further their personal agenda. (Westfield)
•Received a ‘no confidence” vote from the Police Union and School Board.
•Attempted to dissolve Town Meeting before all business was complete. (After vowing to never do that again in 2008).
•A computer audit that targeted employees who may be investigating the Selectmen or who might be “blogging” about them.($58,000 and counting)
•Our current Town Moderator doesn't believe in the form of government but is still running for re-election?

I could go on but I think you get the idea! Our current elected officials want you to believe that all the acrimony and fiscal problems of the town are not their fault. The problem with that theory is they are the leadership and their decisions are the root of the problem. They want you to fear new leadership. Isn’t it time we held them accountable? Isn’t it time to demand fiscal responsibility from our elected officials? Isn’t time we demand our elected officials serve the citizens of Wareham and not their personal agenda?

Please mark April 6th on your calendar. That is the day we, the citizens of Wareham, hold our elected officials accountable by exercising our right to vote. In the end, it’s about what we want from our leadership.

Vote April 6th.
