So I checked the website for Common Cause (www.commoncause.org) and they did indeed commend the town for transparency.  I think the award is really about what the town puts on its website (it may be a technical award for putting certain town documents on the site), but I left them a comment (under "About Us" there is an opportunity to contact them) letting them know that though I am as liberal as they come, they will be getting no further donations from the likes of me.  I suggest you folks do the same.  I mentioned the 17 violations of the open meeting law, and told them that it seemed that corruption in Massachusetts has apparently flowed like sewage all the way into the halls of Common Cause.  For shame, for shame.
