So did I hear correctly the bos want to ban all cell phone use by the police?I thought we had a strong chief law? Why are the bos creating policy? Why create such a policy? To try to fire certain officers? This is why people that don't have jobs shouldn't be writing policys. They don't know what they are doing

No, no, they're not targeting anyone.  They are all about peace and harmony.  They just gave the cops new cars and whatnot.  No way they would try to take away the most convenient, necessary, and most useful piece of technology in the world today.  Not THIS Board of Selectmen.

Sooo...a cop is in trouble, the radio is broken and...what, he's on his own because Sweet Brucey doesn't like the cops using cell phones?

Oh April 6th...why can't you be tommorrow?

Anyone that is into the hobby of listening to police scanners will be able to tell you that they often hear the station instructing officers to "signal 2". It doesn't take long to figure out that signal 2 means to call by phone. Cell phones are a necessary tool.

The selectmen should not interfere with the police department.  Stay out of their department and their business.  How does "Chief" Stanley feel about this?

Exactly, so does anyone know who came up with this bright idea and has anyone heard from P.T.Chief Andrews as to his opinion?  I would love to see if they really do pass this because the only people I know that would enforce it would be Maybe 2 particular officers and Crime Watch.
