GWB

Yes Mike9F It's that time of year again, when the Wareham Observer Editor decides the paper's de facto endorsements in Wareham's town election via it’s in this corner columns. The Wareham Political season is officially upon us.

In this corner columns are the opinion pieces written by the Editor of that paper, and in the case of The Wareham Observer, are nearly always inclined to find fault or to judge with severity any one who may disagree or not support the incumbent government, particularly the Board of Selectmen. The lopsided nature of the reporting often found in The Wareham Observer is absolutely astonishing. The Editor spares no one going to almost any lengths to discredit or spin any information that may paint the people that he supports in a negative light.

The Wareham Observer will almost certainly support the incumbents in the coming elections of course. He will do so by attacking in his paper any and all challengers to those currently in office. He will also attack those who may support these challengers some of which have been a consistent target of The Wareham Observer.

One thing is certain, though: Not one word will be uttered by The Wareham Observer about the incumbent candidates in Wareham who have posted on a pay to chat  Web site run by the paper, (thewarehamobserver.com), Which on its face claims to be a place for open and civil discourse but in reality exists solely as a forum to tear down any opposition to Wareham's incumbent board and anonymously engages in smear programs and propaganda that employs information control tactics similar to those employed by any communist regime.

The most insulting part of it all is that the founding members of the community group Move Wareham Forward post there on a regular basis. This is the same group that made a public outcry for all Wareham citizens to engage in civil discourse to move Wareham forward all the while hurling insults at some of these same citizens behind the protection of the pay to blog Wareham Observer site. Unlike the web site that they often mock these folks smile at you as you walk down the street but will stab you in the back as soon as you turn around.

Not just some but all media outlets will print stories about the upcoming election. Some may be more slanted than others. I have faith that the Voters of this community will listen to the views of all candidates with an open mind. They will form their own opinions on which candidates they want to support. They will then go to the polls and vote their conscience. There will be winners and there will be losers. But regardless of the outcome the persons put into office will be put there by the voters who supported them. In the end isn’t that what makes being an American great. REMEMBER MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT ON APRIL 6th.
