A leader motivates the team (employees, team, Town.) to meet the goals set by the team. And gives credit to the team effort. They also are willing to take blame when the goals are not met.
A politician take credit for all positive actions of the team and leaves possible deniability of any involvement for all failures.

Unfortunately I think far too often that is true. Not just here but on state and federal levels. The sad part is that politicians in general don't seem to understand that they are human and it is okay to make some mistakes from time to time. Theydon't seem to understand that if they owned up to thier mistakes insted of trying to deny them. People would have more respect for them. This in my opinion however is only for honest mistakes and does not apply to violations or ignorance of the law. In those cases there is no excuse.
