Wareham's town government is overrun with douches, and in 2009, they sure did alot of douchey things.  Let's review them and maybe the voters will take pity on Wareham and decide come April that Wareham should never be subjected to another douchetastic year like this one again.

From now till the end of the year, Ham will make entries for every month of 2009, going over the douchetabulous moves made by the incompetent Hypocrite Elite.  In the meantime, post your thoughts about this craptacular year Wareham has had under the bumbling select-clowns.

Who was the naughtiest of the year?  Quote of the year?  Dumbest move of the year?

Stay tuned for "The Year in Re-Douche."

I expect to see pages on this subject, as the aforementioned have provided us with as many low-lights as one could imagine!!

Months Leading up to 2009

Before we get into 2009, we need to remember the last couple of months of 2008, because they set the stage for all the douchey moves the Hypocrite Elite made in 2009.

The selectmen, with the aid of their bitch lackey reporter, rolled into power a few years ago, declaring Sweet Brucey as King Brucey, Supreme Overlord of the People's Republic of Wareham and Unquestionable Ruler of All He Surveys in 2006.  From that point on, if you ever dared to questioned the moves of His Royal Bruceyness, his court jester the bagel biter would rip you to shreds.

That way it stayed for years, people tried appeasement, they tried to throw up their hands and say it isn't worth it.  Many good people left government rather than put up with the bullshit, and it appeared to have no affect, people who weren't offering any opposition to the Hypocrite Elite were still be bashed left and right because A LONG TIME AGO they dared to disagree and if you have ever disagreed with the Hypocrite Elite, it doesn't matter how long ago, they'll heap abuse on you any way they can for the rest of your days.

The selectmen's regime was one of gross incompetence and it only survived by their control over information with an iron fist.  Their loyal bitch lackey towed their line and all disagreement was summarily punished with rag ravings.  People didn't fight back because the trend seemed to be, fighting back only meant the rag ravings would only get worse.

Then in late 2008, the playing field was leveled.  This site started to take off, Wareham was mad as hell and they weren't going to take it anymore.  The Hypocrite Elite's close to 3 year stranglehold on the flow of information where they controlled what Wareham heard 1984 "big brother" Orwellian style ended.  Bloggers took to their keyboards and Wareham started learning things they never knew and their eyes and ears were pried wide open.

In the history book of Wareham, there should be a chapter called: "Bill Whitehouse, Hero."  Without this site that he created, Wareham would still be living in the dark ages.

This wholesale distribution of the truth drove the selectmen nuts, it drove their lackey bagel biter certifiable.  The flood gates opened and truth poured out like a great roaring river and trying to stop it became their sole mission in life.

The Hypocrite Elite made some douchey moves in late 2008.  Brucey was arrested for driving on a suspended license.  He said his license was never suspended, but he never produced a copy of his driving record, something you'd do if you were innocent.  His dutiful stooge worked overtime to take the blame off Brucey.  That incident no doubt led to the selectmen's ongoing persecution of the police in 2009.

Bobo the Cub Reporter was sued for the second time by someone unhappy with his crappy stories.  That led to him having to charge for the rag and cutting his circulation down.  The effort never took off - who pays for shit?

Also remember Bobo and the Cat Lady had a massive blow out fight late last year.  Cat Lady, who founded the Rag along time ago, coincidentally changed every opinion she ever had about the same time as Bobo cut a $5,000 check to become a rag partner.  In 2007, the Cat Lady stopped being an owner and mysterious Californian that we have never been told much about Paul Coyle became a co-owner.

Cat Lady stayed on as a rag writer, but the massive blow out fight ended their friendship altogether.  Wareham has gotten 2 sides of the story.

The Cat Lady, over a lumberjack breakfast special at the Crack O'Dawn, told the townies that congregate there that she had been fired and reports were that she was crying up a storm.

Bobo says the fight happened because the Cat Lady insulted his dollies, causing him to say naughty words to her that he wished he could take back, but she wouldn't talk to him or to any intermediaries for him.  Bobo said she was under a mistaken belief that she was fired, yes, because people always mistakenly believe they are fired when they're not, happens all the time.

Oh to have been a fly on the wall during the Great Bobo/Cat Lady Brawl of 2008.

He left the light on for her.  The Cat Lady once owned a paper, now she only has light bulbs.  The 50 watt severance package.

With the rag having to charge and without the Cat Lady, the rag went further and further on the decline in 2009.

There we have it, the state of affairs that Wareham entered into as 2009 rolled around.

Next time - January and "Sue em!  That'll take care of it!"

January

"Sue 'em, that'll take care of it!"

The selectmen rang in the new year, 2009, with a bang when they told a town resident to sue the town to "teach the town a lesson" then one week later, said they did not say that at all.  Pretty lame to lie about things caught on videotape, but darned if our selectmen didn't try to anyway.  Citizens being lied to their faces by our "leaders" is a theme running throughout the year.

Catch the video on P-SPAN's blog, you'll see it for yourself.  The selectmen (Cronie and Brockton Brenda), one week they tell a resident to sue the town, the next week, they try to deny it.  Too bad, so sad, they were caught on tape.  Can't lie about things that are on tape.

Other noteworthy happenings in January, 2009:

- Bobo, after going apeshit that Dick Wheeler got a "Man of the Year Award" from the Standard Times for his paddlethon (Dick told Bobo a greek myth once and Bobo has been scared of Zeus ever since). It's ok Bobo, greek myths aren't real!  Bobo chose Brockton Brenda Woman of the Year because uh, er, ummm she has a cellphone to her ear all the time.

- Wareham Police Union, after getting slammed week after week by a board of selectmen bound and determined to interfere with their duties of providing public safety, took a vote of no confidence in the selectmen, the post on the Wareham Police Union blog on this vote is pasted below:

Re:     Wareham Police Union Issues “Vote of No Confidence” against Wareham Board of Selectmen.

  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On January 22, 2009 the Wareham Police Union issued a “Vote of No Confidence” by substantial majority vote (32-7) against the Wareham Board of Selectmen.  The Union based their votes on the following reasons;

Continuing to create a hostile working environment by perpetuating in public forums that we use excessive force and/or we are racially motivated.

Continued attempts to turn the community against the police.

Continuing to act as judges, juries, and/or criminal investigators in police matters still under investigation or still awaiting trial, thus undermining the judicial court system.

Failing to direct citizens to the proper channels for filing complaints against the Police Department.

Taking the word of “known criminals” over their own sworn Police Officers.

Speaking on behalf of the Police Union when dismissing Town Administrator McAuliffe, but never actually receiving a complaint by the Union

Lying to the public about the circumstances and outcome of the Sauvageau arrest.

Calling for a special investigation into the Sauvageau arrest, which:

a.) Is out of their jurisdiction
b.) Is unethical, since they hold the same position and have shown a clear
          bias toward the Police Department
c.) Is a violation of the open meeting law, since the public wasn’t notified of the Selectmen’s actions.

Setting up an atmosphere for the accused to deny their own wrongdoings and shift the blame to the Police Department.

Continued attempts to call into question the actions, professionalism, training, and discretion of Police Officers based on hearsay, conjecture, and lies, rather than the facts and/or the truth.

Members of the Board failing to admonish their colleagues for acting unprofessional.

Our initial goal was to remain quiet and just let the Board’s actions “blow over.”  Yet week after week the attacks continued.  We have no choice but to issue our “Vote of No Confidence” against the Board and their leadership.

The Wareham Police Union hopes that after reading the litany of reasons above that the citizens of Wareham will open their eyes to the Board’s questionable, unfair, and quite frankly, deplorable behavior.

It is the Union’s belief that the Board has acted in such a manner to further their agenda of destroying each and every department head in order to control all town departments, much like a dictatorship.

The men and women of the Wareham Police Union will no longer allow the Board of Selectmen to bully us or use us as scapegoats in their mission to control the Police Department and its operations.

We are hard working, dedicated, professional, and committed to serving the citizens of Wareham to the best of our abilities.  The Board has no right to say otherwise based on statements and “inside information” provided by those with questionable histories and motives.

The Wareham Police Union is urging citizens and other town Unions and organizations to speak out and voice their support for the Police Department.  Despite the hostile conditions the Board of Selectmen have put us under, the Department handled 34,252 calls for service in 2008 (with a staff of less than 50).

The men and women of the Wareham Police Union will continue to serve the public with the utmost professionalism, no matter what our government does to try and put us in a bad light.

In addition to our vote, we will soon be setting up a web blog to educate the public, dispel the rumors, and set the record strait concerning Police Union issues past, present, and future (www.warehampoliceunion.com).

And maybe, just maybe, The Board of Selectmen will realize and admit to the error of their ways….but we’re not holding our breath.

George Dionne

Union President

Next time - February and this site derails the Hypocrite Elite's first choice to run for selectman.

February

The month when love was in the air, among other things...

Adios Little Jimmy

One-term selectman Jimmy Potter, in a lengthy pat himself on the back letter to the editor, announces he won't run for re-election.  Word on the street was that he'd already moved to Bourne.  I hate to be too hard on the guy, because at this point, he's out of office and to my knowledge, isn't actively participating in the douchebaggery going on.  Once in a great while, he'd incur Bobo's wrath by doing the right thing and taking a stance against the Hypocrite Elite, but for the most part, was just as bad as the rest of these clowns, in this blogger's opinion anyway.  I speculate that he saw the writing was on the wall and decided to get out before going down with the ship that Brucey is intent on sinking.

Like I said, he's out of the picture now, so no sense in being too hard on him.  I wish him good luck, to him and his Power Ranger action figures.

Bobo - Are You Sure You Didn't Follow Brucey's Business Advice?

Bobo writes that he once asked Brucey for advice on how to run a business when he started publishing the Rag.  Bobo said that Brucey turned him down, but Ham is skeptical.  Unpaid printer bills, loses his office, no profits, business going down the toilet...sounds like Bobo followed Ace Financial Planner Brucey's advice to a T.

Library Decertification #1

Selectmen and Bobo get their wish - the library in the toilet.  Citing a disproportionate cut in the library budget (that many Wareham residents saw as punishment for library supporters' daring to disagree with them politically), the library loses certification, though a waiver was later granted.  As we see later in the year (or actually, just recently) Wareham's second go around with the de-certification is less likely to result in a waiver, unless Sen. Pacheco can get special legislation passed.  Selectmen and Bobo may get their wish of finally destroying the library after all.

In a twisted, warped, mind-boggling tirade, Bobo in February actually blamed the library's decertification on Mrs. Pillsbury, who had passed on before the town meeting where the selectmen's draconian library budget cut took place, and several months before the decertification came.  It was deeply disturbing, and in hindsight (keeping in mind his recent mental fits on paper about the library), it was apparently a sign of the bagel biter's bizarre obsession of piling on the abuse of a woman for daring to disagree with his Sweet Brucey.

I believe it was also around this time that Brockton Brenda and Bobo the Brucey Dupe start peddling the trashy lie that library employees were being paid for but were not working a full 40 hours.  Not true, D-bags, they were working the whole 40.  ITABM never stands up for the employees, too cowardly to correct these clowns.

Police Department Has No Cadets, But Select Board Has Plenty of Space Cadets

Selectmen publicly rave about the town hiring three police cadets that the town didn't even hire, showing the town that they are better at blowing hot air than they are at fact checking.  I'm not sure if it was this month or later in the year, but Brucey eventually proposed the town give the heave-ho to some of the police department's recent hires, one of them just "coincidentally" being the officer that arrested him for driving with a suspended license.  Hello, hello, Ethics Commission, where are you?

Snowjob

Funny how Bobo just this week wrote that the selectmen rescinded the "no plow until there is 4 inchs" policy "a year ago" because the selectmen instituted that idiotic policy in February of THIS YEAR!!!  Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's been no rescinding of that policy to my knowledge.

Hypocrite Elite Settles for Their Second Choice

Ham is not going to mention her name, but the year started out with heavy word on the street that a certain friend of a certain Brocktonite was going to throw her hat in the ring in the selectmen's race, but that effort was de-railed when the truth bloggers bring to the public's attention that she was, among other things, :gasp!: a rag advertiser!!!  (That's bad enough, but that was the least of it).

Ham's leaving her name out because uh, well, hell, I don't want to mess with that one!

Funny thing, if you review the posts, I never mentioned any of this because I thought she'd be an easy candidate to beat, but others apparently feared her winning enough to bring it to the public's attention.

A few other Hypocrite Elitists, including former Rag columnist Pat McLeod, (another sign of the Rag's way too close intertwinement with politics) take out papers, but don't return them.

Onset resident Walter Cruz, backed by the Donahues, ends up being the select clowns' choice.  He was a retired businessman with alot of experience in construction and runs a kennel in his spare time - but as we will see in the months leading up to the election, Bobo focuses in mainly on the man's race, and Bobo the Racebaiter is born.

Wareham Loses a Legend

John Wylde, who had served on a number of town boards but was most known as the President and General Manager of the Wareham Gatemen, passes on and is sorely missed.  The man was loved by all and was about as close to being a saint as a man can get.  He loved baseball, and donated countless amounts of time and money to making the Wareham Gatemen a success.

For some baffling reason, Bobo and the bonehead selectmen went after Wylde very unfairly in years prior, causing him to openly fear that the onslaught might have to make him move the team out of town altogether.

Wylde and the Gatemen took care of the baseball field, donated tons of time and money to it, the players provided free volunteer help all over town, residents were provided with cheap entertainment (entry price is usually a dollar, if you can afford it) as well as a tourist attraction for the town.  It was a win-win situation for all.

In other words - the kind of good thing that the Hypocrite Elite, for some odd reason, always seems to want to rip apart.

Police Officer Cleared of Excessive Force

The selectmen wanted Chief Joyce out, and that meant steamrolling over the good name of any and all officers necessary with ridiculous claims just to do it was no problem for them.  Selectmen said that if a review by the Bristol County DA cleared the officer, then they would have no further complains.  The Bristol DA cleared the officer, but the sour grape selectmen whined and moaned during a selectmen's meeting anyway.

Holy Crap!!!  Ham broke a sweat wading through all of February's douchebaggery, and in March, it gets even douchier!!  Speaking of, next time - Bobo "fights back against the hatebloggers."  Sorry Bobo, we're still here.
